💪🏽🤱🏽🤰🏻
We have baby showers, sprinkles, gender reveals and who knows what else! What you actually need and what we get are very different though. The nursery accessories, endless clothes and containers to put your baby in are just not needed. Dozens of bottles, pacifiers, warmers of all kinds, oh my 🥲
What do we know about the and ?
✔️After your body requires healing, rest and proper nourishment is essential.
✔️Your should be with you as often as possible in the first year of life.
✔️Your first need is to attach, meaning they likely will hardly be ok with being in any container for longer than 20 minutes at a time if you’re lucky.
✔️Real support is necessary, not folks who want to come swoon over the baby.
✔️ need responsibility taken over and chores done
✔️New families need to eat and eat well !
So, if your , tell you aunt Suzy to drop off her famous soup and your neighbor to make her famous muffins and drop them at the doorstep. Maybe just maybe they can catch a glimpse. BUT hopefully not, as should be resting and feeding in bed for the first week at least ❤️
PASS IT ALONG 📢
This is what I envisioned when I brought my business to another lever of care ! Having a team means MORE support for clients, MORE continuity of care, MORE availability and flexibility and MORE doulas on this mission with me toward positive and empowering and experiences.
These are a couple pics from our recent Born With Love Team Meeting. So much connection, experiences and knowledge shared ! Can’t wait for next month with these ladies ❤️💫 🤰🏻🤱🏽👶🏻👶🏾👶🏽
If you are (for in the postpartum) and want to plan your peaceful, supported and informed birth and postpartum care, reach out to chat with me about a doula or doulas on the team that would be an amazing fit for you 💫💪🏽❤️
You’re going to hear way too much conflicting information about infant norms and what to expect ! Check out our newest blog post putting some things into perspective ❤️ 📖 🤰🏻👶🏽🤱🏽

The postpartum time with a new baby can be so joyous, but can be impacted by the stresses of infant needs if parents don't understand them.
Some days we'll have crib naps, others we just hang on the couch. Maybe your pregnant and are hearing, "you'll never sleep again", and "all babies do is eat and sleep"? hmmmm (head scratch right)
It’s true. It really is!
After birth you may question if this is what you actually wanted. You may think it’s not for you. The constant feeding, the lack of sleep, the overwhelm. But regardless of what it looks like, everyone has challenges. They may not be exactly the same as yours, but it is NOT easy. Thankfully though, it gets better, you get into a groove, your baby adapts to their own rhythms and routines and you follow along. Things start to click again.
So just remember, somewhere, maybe even your neighbor is up all night with an infant too, frustrated and emotional.
This will pass, in the meantime, get help if total partner support is not doable or close supportive family. Support makes all the difference 💫🤰🏻🤱🏽
The is a delicate one. It can be quite simple but often feels complicated!
Taking care of yourself to ensure healing will greatly benefit those early days. Your needs feeding and but otherwise all the care should be for the so she can care for her ❤️
, , ….whats normal, what’s not, what does it all mean and what hat if it doesn’t pass ?!?
Check out this Born With Love Blog Post !

We love what we do ! We are passionate about every new and expectant family having the care they deserve to educate and empower them toward *their* ideal positive and peaceful birth and postpartum experiences.
Think you need just a couple shifts of doula care weekly, this is doable. Do you think you need 6 nights and 5 days, yes! If you are in or near Philadelphia or South Jersey, reach out to plan for your support!
❤️💫🤰🏻🤱🏽
We’ve heard it, want to achieve it, or hopefully are at a place where we finally know it’s nonsense. Infants should not be expected to . Human babies are born carry mammals, meaning they require closeness to a caregiver in order to feel safe. If an infant doesn’t feel safe they will let you know. Separation is just too much for many babies. Self soothing is a term that was never supposed to be used as something to expect of human infants nor is it something we can teach. Does it happen organically sometimes, yep! But this comes from a baby feeling safe. The way we help our infants to feel safe is show them that we are there when we need them ❤️
So the next time your baby cries when you put them down. Know that this is normal, they just need to be close .
If you are at the end of your and feeling spent, your provider wants to induce please think about the why. There are absolutely reasons for a medical , but often times induction happens when it isn’t medically necessary.
So what’s the big deal? Maybe you heard about the cycle of interventions, maybe you want an epidural anyway, maybe not, maybe you’re not even sure how it all works and are uncertain about your birth preferences. Know that inductions are usually a long process with taking often 18 hours on average after the start of an intervention. Providers use multiple ways to progress prior to the use of pitocin. This can all be exhausting and the effectiveness varies from person to person.
The risks for interventions that weren’t anticipated or wanted are often at play. Your positive birth and postpartum experience can very much be affected by this decision. Ask your provider about the process and if it is “necessary”. Discuss options and about waiting just a few more days for spontaneous labor to begin. Every day counts !
Enjoy a very Christmas if your holding off and waiting for your to arrive 🌲 ⛄️ 💫
Got to connect with a few members of the Born With Love Team (others were missed for sure) today over brunch. I am so blessed to know these ladies and work along side them. They are all amazing doulas and doing incredible things ❤️
It's important in pregnancy to always weigh risk versus benefit when deciding on if inducing labor and birth is the right option for you.
The holiday season is not a reason for induction There are many reasons that induction of your labor may be recommended. Many factors should play into your decision on this matter. Weighing risk versus benefit is key! While induction may be a good option for some pregn...
So thankful ❤️
Check out the new “why I needed a doula and it’s not why you think”.
My own birth experiences are what sparked a fire in me to pursue birth work over 12 years ago. I’m thankful for negative and the positive because I learned and evolved brought this to my own births and my work.
BUT with everything I know about birth, how to move, positions, managing labor contractions, focusing energy and releasing control, multiple experiences in my own briths and knowledge I’ve taken from the hundreds of births I’ve supported….I still needed a !

How did your doula influence your birth?
Building a team of incredible doulas has been such a roller coaster. Making shifts as my business grows to care for and support more clients toward their positive and empowering birth and postpartum experiences has been well worth it though !
Messages from clients like this are why I do what I do and why I intentionally bring doulas on my team who share my philosophies on client care ❤️
