Seating is limited! Please make reservations so that we can try to accommodate everyone.

We plan to open for business as usual tomorrow but, it depends on the storm’s severity and if poses hazardous conditions for all. We will keep you updated.

As we wind down our last week here at Frank Jones, reservations are highly recommended. Coming in early on in the week has more availability. This is a difficult time for us as we will miss all of you soo much!

Many items are for sale in the restaurant and have been priced. We will be having an “estate sale” this coming Sunday from 2-4. However, you are welcome to come by sooner and pick up a sheet listing all available items for you to choose from and take a quick peek.

Come welcome “Frank Jones” to Barrington New Hampshire tonight. He is from Baltimore Maryland and has been our Facebook friend for many, many years.He has “approved”many of our messages, signs, menus.
He has decided to hop on a plane and come up here and visit us because we are closing our doors and he has always wanted to visit his “name sake”.

It is with great sadness that Frank Jones Restaurant & Pub is announcing the closing of our doors permanently. We need to be fully open and operational in order to meet our everyday operating/business expenses, and we have been unable to do that due to the pandemic.

This has been a very difficult, yet necessary decision for our family. We have been here for 11 years now, going on 12. We would also ask that you not ask us personal questions on this page out of respect.

We would like to keep our doors open til the end of February so that everyone who has been a loyal patron here has the chance to come in, grab a bite to eat and say goodbye!

The Beginning...

Frank Jones was born on a farm in 1832 in Barrington, New Hampshire, home to our restaurant, Frank Jones Restaurant & Pub. Frank left the farm as a teenager and walked to Portsmouth to find a job, and in 1858 he discovered his love for brewing.

By the early 1880’s he opened the Frank Jones Brewing Company and employed over 500 folks, brewing 6000 barrels per year offering six types of ales from three breweries in New England. Considered a “robber baron” of the East, Jones diversified his investments to include the famous Wentworth by the Sea among other hotels, and he held the position of President of the Boston and Maine Railroad.

He was twice elected mayor of Portsmouth NH and served two terms as a NH Congressman. Frank Jones died in 1902 – only 3 years after he sold the Brewery to British investors, and just a few years prior to Prohibition – what a visionary!

We feature Frank Jones Ale, fresh made delicious food, with fresh seafood, fresh chicken, burgers and steaks. The food has been flying out of our kitchen since 2010, serving over 45,000 guests a year in our small 60 seat restaurant.
