The National Wheelchair Basketball Association is excited to announce the special events schedule at the 2023 NWBA Adult Wheelchair Basketball National Championships on March 31-April 2 in Wichita, KS. The events will provide the athletes a unique playing experience and feature many of the talent athletes from the Adult Division.

All three events are scheduled for Friday, March 31-Saturday, April 1 at the renowned Wichita Hoops facility and are FREE to participate!

Congratulations to the DuBois Jefferson County Special Olympics Team! This past weekend 10 athletes competed at Special Olympics Indoor Winter State Games in York, PA in bowling. There were two- 4 person teams and one double team.
They ALL took home 1st Place GOLD MEDALS!! Congrats from Bigfoot Country!! You are all awesome!!👏

State of TN DIDD ( Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) Fraudulent Accusations Against Contracted Provider

My name is Tonishia Lott, the Executive Director/Co-Owner of Victorious Family Care Center a Licensed Provider for the State of TN DIDD. My agency contract was recently terminated due to False Accusations of Neglect from the State of TN DIDD Provider Support Team. I had recently moved my office from one location to another. The State of TN DIDD Licensure Team had contacted me and asked how long I had been out of my office at 2785 Summer Oaks Drive. My response was I was still in the office. The State of TN DIDD Licensure Coordinator then stated that the DIDD Provider Support Team alerted her that the Building Owner told them that Victorious had been out of the office for Various Months which were false accusations ( DIDD West Region Provider Support Team not knowing that Licensure told me this).

The State of TN DIDD West Region Provider Support Team came to my office unannounced and requested files. While they was at Victorious I asked them what was the building owner's name that told them I had been out of my office Various Months. The team stated they didn't tell anyone that. Where did you hear that from? I stated from the Licensure Coordinator and if they would like to they could contact the DIDD Licensure Coordinator.

The next day it was reported to the DIDD hotline Victorious Family Care Center had neglected one of the people we support and was placed under investigation. I contacted the State of TN DIDD West Region Director. She was very resentful and she stated that she can assure me that is not what the provider support team would do and you never know who reported you.

Not even a whole week later Victorious Contract with The State of TN DIDD was later Terminated for Termination of Convenience which I took that very offensive as if it was a power move to remind me of my place. But I thought my place was to provide great service and excellent care for the people Victorious support.

Termination of Convenience means a provider can be doing good or bad and they contract can be terminated for no reason at anytime. This is something a lot of Provider's that are licensed through the State of TN DIDD doesn't know. It was never noticed in the contract a provider can be terminated for convenience. I was to excited after 4 long years of going through the process and being denied various times all I knew Victorious was finally approved. I felt as if I was now able to become an advocate and voice my opinion for the individuals that have a disability and meet their needs, because I myself had a disability. Many people look at your disability, but not the ability that you have as a person and your voice to be heard.

I was informed when I first became a Provider through the State of TN DIDD that we must provide Excellent Care to the Person Supported and to MEET THEIR NEEDS. I was always told to remember it is the Person Supported Right. Victorious Person's Supported experience has to now change, when they have already become comfortable and very happy with Victorious Family due to the Termination of Victorious Family Care Center Contract.

Victorious is providing STELLAR care to the people we support. To me that should be very important to the powers when taking such drastic measures such as closing an agency that's providing EXCEPTIONAL care to the people that have chosen to become part of the Victorious family. I feel it was never about the PERSON SUPPORTED and meeting the needs of the Person
Supported. If it was about the Person Supported Victorious Family Care Center Contract would
have never been TERMINATED because WE CARE.

All of this occurred because I reported to the Director of the West Region with The State of TN Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
Due to DISCRIMINATION, FALSE ACCUSATIONS & RETALIATION (Meanings Listed Below) from The State of Tennessee Department of Intellectual Disabilities. Victorious Family Care Center is now experiencing Defamation of Character.

I have questions that are not being answered. It is not FAIR that the Providers are placed under Investigation when something is reported against them, but when a Provider reports an issue, it is left unattended.

Direct Support Professional shall provide direct support to person supported. Staff will be responsible for the transportation, community engagement and overall safety of the people they support. Staff must develop meaningful day activities and seek opportunities for community inclusion for the people supported. These activities must remain consistent with each person's individual interests and choices, as outlines in ISPs and through discussion and focused discovery. Will assist in establishing routines that meet all individuals' needs and desires and to ensure compliance with licensing regulations, agency policies and practices and protection of individual rights. Will assist and/or perform cleaning a home maintenance activities. Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate and professional; assist with information gathering to identify personal outcomes desired and effect of supports. Ensure that all home, vehicle, and personal property maintenance needs are address in a timely manner. Complete all required paperwork thoroughly, correctly and on a timely basis. Change work schedule as needed to meet individual and program needs.

All Staff are required to wear a Face Mask for the safety of self and person supported.

Personal Assistant will provide personal assistance to individuals receiving home and community participation and personal assistance services. Staff shall be responsible for the general care of each program participant.
