July is National Pet Hydration Awareness Month! Always remember to pack extra water and a travel bowl for your pets when adventuring outdoors this summer! Even when dogs are swimming, the can still be at risk for dehydration or heat related illness. Contact your veterinarian if your pet has fallen ill after spending time outdoors.

Dr. Rechelle Brooks is back at VCA All Pets on Thursdays, Fridays, and every other Saturday! Dr. Rechelle Brooks graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing since 2004. She has a strong interest in dermatology and geriatric medicine. Dr. Brooks married her husband, Ed Brooks, in 2007 and they have 2 children. Their family also consists of dogs named Paisley and Paige; and seven cats: Sushi, Felipe, Fizz, Momma Cat, C.K., and Coco. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and interior decorating.
