Meet Executive Chef Cameron Cage of City Group Hospitality CITY PORK. Chef Cameron Cage is from Baton Rouge, LA. He spent the majority of his childhood in the kitchen cooking with his mom and grandmother. His mother always pushed him to be a chef which led to him attending the Louisiana Culinary Institute and beginning his professional career in 2017. His mom and dad supported him all along the way.
He became truly inspired working under Joey Daigle while at Juban’s Restaurant. He is also inspired by Grant Achatz who is his biggest idol in the culinary world.
Chef Cameron started with City Group Hospitality as Sous Chef at Rouj Creole in 2020. From there he moved to City Pork where he also started as Sous Chef but has been promoted to Executive Chef at City Pork Highland.
He loves experimenting with Asian and Caribbean cuisine and Japanese food is his favorite to eat. He continues to move up in his career with intent in the memory of his best friend, Willie McManus, whom he lost to su***de and was always Cameron’s biggest supporter.
He has recently moved over to our City Pork Jefferson location as the Executive Chef and his Sous Chef Michael David has now moved into the Executive Chef Role to take his place at our Highland location. Congratulations Chef ! Keep up the great work! We are so lucky to have you in the City Group Hospitality Family!
