Latest (almost completed) project. Nice, roomy tote. Combined 3-4 patterns. The handle was a new technique that took me 3 videos and more tries to figure out. But I think it was worth the effort. Beautiful texture!
Helpful close up look at stitches.
Crochet Anatomy - The Loopy Stitch When it comes to crochet, let’s face it, there are so many things that you can learn. And sometimes, if you think you know it all (not in a bad way), something new comes along and blows your mind. True fact. It’s limitless! I’m going to be honest here and tell you that even I...
The biggest Christmas-in-May, non-Christmas-colored stocking ever!!
Made this cute little bowl with two strands of cotton yarn. Then cut a cardboard circle for the bottom and sewed another crocheted layer on top of the cardboard. Made for a sturdy and cute little project.
Cute and quick. Pattern by 5 Little Monsters (plus some tiny embellishments).
One of several current WIPs. (HAPPY CAL by https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/tinna-thorudottir-thorvaldsdottirs-ravelry-store)
This keychain gets my vote! Very sturdy, solid tube. Comfy to hold or wear. And quick to make!
Kinda cute and functional. Also SUPER quick. Wristlet keychain.
Still at it…
Solar eclipse mandala in the works… just for fun! 🤩
I think I am experiencing my first “pattern binge”! I usually get bored and have to go on to another project (often before the first one is done!). Here’s the next Clematis…. Multi-colored/Ombre this time. Still deciding what I think of it… (Pardon the blocking pins.)
Love this pattern! I’ve made two. Would like to make lots in all the colors! 😃 https://www.ravelry.com/projects/ChouShine/clematis-mini-2
Some more experiments from yesterday. First time trying broomstick lace (the two small cuffs). Both all one piece - one joined w/ sc, one w/ slip stitch. A button would work also, though. Definitely was a bit more challenging than making stitches without sticks! :D (Tutorial by Marly Bird on creativebug.com)
Also, first time trying the diagonal chevron stitch (larger, green item). This is done in the round here and will probably end up being a small bag/tote/purse. Easy, but beautiful stitch! Here's the tutorial: https://nedandmimi.com/diagonal-chevron-crochet-stitch/
Have you checked out https://www.creativebug.com/ yet? You can access it for free if you have a library card or you can subscribe to it. Today, I did a neat little video tutorial about crocheting around rocks.
Why crochet around a rock? 1-for fun; 2-to use as a paperweight; 3- to use as a door stop; 4-to make a necklace out of; 5-decorative; 6-whatever else you can think of! Obviously, it depends on the size of the rock. The small one I did looks like a strawberry to me - too bad the yarn wasn't red. The larger one is a smidge bigger than a bar of soap.
Playing with textured stitches. Might put them all together in a sampler blanket. …or might not.
Here's a good video for learning how to read crochet symbols/charts. https://youtu.be/wKRhtQax-rk?si=rbkRxInFsgv-JNb- Plus...pretty square!

I. Love. Crochet. I’ve been crocheting since I was very (very) young. Fast- forward 40(ish) years, kiddos are leaving the nest at a dizzying speed and it’s time to fill some time (and heart) gaps. So, as of late, I have thrown myself into crocheting and am trying lots and lots of new items and techniques. Some are hits, some not so much. I’ll only be sharing my ‘hits’ here. :D
I also want to share my love of crochet by teaching this art form to others. I’m offering classes from beginner to advanced. Of course, I know not everyone wants to crochet, so for those of y’all who would rather someone else do it, there is something for you as well. My handmade creations.... amigurumi (stuffed animals), blankets, pillows, hats, scarves, wall hangings, placemats, braceletts, etc. etc. etc. If you are looking for something you don’t see here, please feel free to ask me. You can also request particular colors and personalization (name, team, etc) of items shown.
Well, thank you for reading my story. I’m super excited to share this with everyone and hope you check back in from time to time as my page is currently a brand new work in progress.
