We host our next Red Dragon show this Wednesday. Our Australian friend THE WEEPING WILLOWS will be in town. Andy & Laura are awesome artists AND people. Yeah, I get it.....you've never heard of em. This is the part of this pitch where I ask....have you ever trusted anyone? Does 23 years of the Red Dragon count? And 14 years of running a record label? I'm telling you, these two are flat-out awesome. And they are bringing HALLEYANNA FINLEY with them. Take my word, y'all....you want to join us for the evening. Our show is this Wednesday at 7:00. Reg seats are $30, VIPs are $40 and can be paid at PayPal.me/RedDragonLR Mention Willows in the message line!
I spent two hours creating Facebook events, for the Red Dragon, only to see them disappear into the ethos without a sign. Facebook changed the process a few months back and apparently I am missing something. I'm too weary to try again today.....
***If you just got a whole bunch of events, I think I figured this stuff out! I'm sure there is a better way to do it, but I don't care....this is a victory for the technophobic among us!!!!
Big score! I accompanied Liz to an estate sale after church today. She got a few things, while I found just one. I scored a copy of Don Walser's classic album, "Rolling Stone From Texas" at the rock bottom price of $1.00. But wait....today is Sunday....50% off day at the estate sale. That's right....50 cents for a classic! I already have one, of course. This one will end up in the hands of a music loving friend. It may be a cheap price I paid, but it will make a priceless gift for a friend!
Farewell to Uncle A.J.. Y'all knew him as Brother Eldon, a fixture in this world for every bit of 102 years. He had an epic life in his chosen field....education. Ask those Catholic High School alums how often he kicked their butts at basketball with his unique shooting style. Ask some older alums what it was like stepping into the ring with Brother Eldon....back then, boxing was a school sport. Brother Eldon served a good portion of his career at Catholic High in Baton Rouge, but also spent time at St. Stanislaus in Mississippi. In his later years, he refused to be put out to pasture. He continued working with the alumni association, raising funds for the school he loved since his days as a student (A.J. graduated in 1939!). I recall a celebration many years ago....something like 70 years as a brother, I think. Word got around that President Bush (the senior) had sent a note of congratulation. I figured it was a form letter or something an assistant generated. Nope! It was a personal letter that talked of their time together on speaking tours. What a wonderful person.....a fine example of how to lead an exemplary life. Although I am sad that Uncle A.J. is no longer here, I know a special place in heaven was reserved as a reward for his lifelong service. And as he did in life, I'm sure he will share that reward with everybody else!
We are the final show of their current tour! Check out the bio info after their schedule!
