I was able to make a HUGE donation to The Family Village today!
I get asked a lot what I do with the stuff I purge? If I have time I offer to take the items and donate them to different non-profits in the area.

This one is near and dear to my heart as they serve foster families! They allow foster parents to shop for free!

They do need NEW hygiene items if anyone wants to donate!

Did you know we offer a move in/move out service? We can help with packing and unpacking, that includes setting up and organizing the space.

This client and I had already purged this playroom a couple of times. So I happily agreed to come unpack and organize this fun playroom without her being there.

In most cases the client and I work hand in hand the entire time and purge as we go!

📝PERFECTION ISNT MY GOAL!
Idk if I can think of one client that told me they wanted everything to be perfect when I left.
**remember I specialize in FUNCTIONAL organization.

First, I will usually I ask your goals when I arrive and help you build a game plan from there. MOST of my clients want me to cover a lot of ground. I work fast! But ultimately, I’m only as fast as my client can make decisions.

At the end my goal is for you to be able to find what you need when you need it! For every thing to have a home. If you want to invest in fancy organizers, go for it! But dollar tree has some pretty good options too!

In each of these rooms we left some areas untouched. They just weren’t important to reach the overall goal. That flexibility is what allows me to create a personalized plan for each client.

I try to communicate a lot during our sessions and allow you, the client, space to tell me what, when, and (sometimes) how you want to tackle a space.

This was a 7 hour job, at the end we didn’t finish the child’s room because mom felt she could handle it without me! We got her rolling and she was able to talk off. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I specialize in working side by side with you. Going through each item and deciding if you want to keep or purge. And finding a home for every item you decide to keep.

It can be a long or short process. Sometimes I only come in for a few days and get you going. Then come back once every couple of months to get it back in tip top shape.
And sometimes I’m with you for days/months on end.

Of course it will depend on your budget and needs.

I like to be up front in that I’m not a professional organizer. However it is truly a passion of mine.

📝A few things to note:
-I don’t clean houses. I will wipe down the surface we’re working on. But I’m not a cleaning service.

-I run on a very strict time schedule. The hours we agree to is exactly how long I’ll be available. Please keep that in mind that my time is valuable, and I want to accomplish as much as possible!

Transparency time! This is my closet 😅

Yes, you read that right. Idk the last time I’ve cleaned it out. I stay so busy that I am at home long enough to sleep most days. So I tend to through things around a lot more than I used to.

But after a purge and a tidy I can find what I need again!
I also keep my out of season shoes on top of my closet. And out of season clothes in my guest closet. That helps me so much!

(I realize this looks like a lot of clothes, and it is, but I do hang everything I can. All my tshirts and shorts are hung up! Most people fold those. I find it easier to find what I want and keep my clothes wrinkle free this way!)

Let’s do a “get to know me” post! 👋🏼🙋🏻‍♀️

My name is Christin, I’ve lived in Baton Rouge since July 2017.

I own Decluttered Living and Magic Of A Nanny, and when I don’t have a client I babysit!

I grew up in SE Texas, lived there until I was 19. At 19 I got married and moved to SO Illinois.
I left Illinois and moved to BR at 24.
I met my husband Justin, shortly after moving here. We got married July 2020.

🧹🧺I’ve always decluttered and babysat! I would help my friends and grandparents declutter and clean for funzies at a very young age. I guess you could say my brain has always seen a challenge and wanted to tackle it.

👶🏻🍼I started holding and loving on babies before I could walk and carry a baby haha I can vividly remember having to sit down to hold babies at church 😆

At 12 I stayed overnight with 2 kiddos. And have never quit babysitting in all 3 states I’ve lived in.

I’ve worked in 2 public schools, taught Sunday school, and have been the go to sitter for my friends.

Myself and everyone around me always thought I would have a car full of kids. But it’s never happened. So now your kids, are my kids. And I’m ok with that! I love being apart of the family. Apart of the village! I fully invest when I can ❤️

Before decluttering and babysitting I sold auto and home insurance since I was 16! I did that for right at 10 years!

I love the flexibility I have now vs having to be in an office from 9-5. I have met some AMAZING people in Baton Rouge.

I went full time….head first into both of these gigs Nov 2021. It’s been the best thing that’s happened in my career! I’m genuinely happy 😊
