Just a FYI, Self employed is taxed different from Wages. If you are filing self-employed solely please know 1 depend. will result in $3500, 2 kids $6000 and 3 kids $7200..... they only way you will get more than that amount is that you have paid quarterly taxes throughout the year or the tax preparer has added a credit that you may not be entitled to

If you own a business and you put them kids to work, file it on your return. There is a limit to the amount that will be considered Tax-Free

Do you owe the IRS? There is a form that you can file ONLY if you CANNOT afford to pay the amount you owe. If the form is approved, you will be placed in a Non-Collectible Status- meaning the IRS will stop making attempts to collect the amount owed. You will have to show evidence of hardship FYI

If you have had problems with someone claiming you or your dependents on their return without your authorization, you should file for an Identity Pin. This pin is issued by the IRS each year to prevent identity theft. You will need it to file your tax return electronically

🚨🚨Word of Advice for Business Owners (those who are filing self-employed)

As of 01/01/2025, there is a form called Business Ownership Information Form. You must have this form completed and submitted. Any business that was structured before 01/01/2024 has until 01/01/2025 to complete this form. Any business form 01/01/2024 has 90 days to complete this form. There is a fine of $500 a day. This form is critical even if you are filing for business loss

Yall been hearing about the EIC has increased. What does that mean for you and your refund? Income and Filing status determines the amount of your EIC. Also remember that the EIC can be reduced by many factors.
