Prayer
God of power and mercy, look upon us that we may feel the working of Your mercy. Send Your Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and make us templates of Your glory. Grant that we may respond willingly to the movement of the Holy Spirit in our lives, the Spirit of love and compassion, of mercy and forgiveness, that we may serve You with all our heart. Amen

Daily Prayer:
Dear God, sometimes we get so caught up in consumerism. Redeem us from the culture that creates needs of our every desire. Cool our frenzied shopping spree as we wander the malls, passing sale after sale, searching for the newest or the best, and give us the courage to seek a simpler life. Guide us toward the genuine values that clothe and feed our inner selves and are free for the asking from You, Merciful God. Amen

I pray about this all the time, since I got sick and the COVID crisis I learned to shop online. It became easier and easier for me. Now i get tons of emails from all the different stores I’ve shopped with, constant sales to drawl you to opening their site. This makes me buy more than I need and most importantly takes away time I should be spending in prayer. Am I the only one that feels this way?
When I read this prayer, I know God has been hearing me, I’m always telling him how sorry I am that I’ve gotten caught up in spending to much time shopping and less time with him.
I’m going to definitely try much harder…..🙏🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻✝️

For those of you who read the daily prayer I just posted, Here is the devotional I’m trying to post, hope it works!

A Prayer for the Power of Prayer - Your Daily Prayer - November 8 I had forgotten how to pray. It was my first Moms In Prayer group and we bowed our heads and hearts before the Lord to lift our children to him. Tears leaked from my eyes as I sat listening to the other women pray for my child.

Let’s pray:
Holy God,
Thank you for that you gave us prayer as a way to communicate with you. Forgive me for treating it with carelessness. Forgive my fatalism. You long for me to pray in faith, believing and trusting that you will reveal yourself to me. Will you open my eyes to understand what’s happening in front of me and behind the scenes? Give me the power of your Spirit so that I can believe that my prayers matter. Pour out your wisdom on me so that I can know how to pray and what to pray. Your Spirit in me is the same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead and I long for you to flow through me continually so that I may be pure, refined, and prepared for your purpose for my life. Thank you for hearing my prayer and loving me.

Let’s pray:
Father God,
Thank You for sending Your Son to stand in my place and take upon Himself Your wrath that I deserved. I stand forgiven and justified before Your throne because of Christ’s work on the cross. Although I stand forgiven of my sin, that does not mean that I do not stumble into sin. My flesh wants to lead me away from Your ways, and sometimes I give into that temptation and disobey. Instead of running away from You in shame, I choose repentance. Holy Spirit, help me be quick to repent and run to the throne of grace. Father, thank You for Your mercies that are fresh and new every single morning. May I never take Your mercy for granted, and may I always make a habit of walking in honesty before You and repent of my disobedience? You are such a faithful Father, waiting for me with arms wide open. Thank You for being a God of abundant second chances.
In Jesus’ name, amen.

God, I know You are always working. Help me acknowledge Your work in the unseen. I confess my skepticism when things are not working out the way I had planned. I choose today to believe I am not a victim of uncontrollable circumstances. Even when I don’t see it, even when I don’t feel it, I will stand on the truth that You are working all things together for good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Eternal Father, You feed the birds of the air, sometimes using caring human beings who provide feeders and bird baths. In the same way You provide for hungry human beings, most often by sending loving people who provide them with care and shelter. Grant, O Lord, that we all may become such caring people. Amen
