Our BREC's Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center's Summer Campers had a blast exploring the Swamp from macro to micro! 🐊🔍 They met a few of our swamp friends, including Richard the blue-tongue skink and Meathead the crested gecko. 🦎🐸

During our Swamp Hike, campers trekked through the lush greenery, discovering hidden nooks & crannies. 🌳 And in Craft Time, they got creative with recycled materials, crafting their own alligator friends! 🐊♻️

From tiny aquatic insects to intricate ecosystems, campers marveled at the Swamp’s tiniest inhabitants during our Swamp Stompers sessions. 🦟🔬

And guess what? All this adventure happened while keeping the fun going all day long with age-specific activities, live animal interactions & outdoor games. 🌞

🎉🏀 Join us on July 26 for a special celebration at Mills Ave Park! We're thrilled to unveil the newly renovated basketball court, thanks to the generous support of the Langston Galloway Foundation. 🌟

🌊🎥 What a magical evening at Liberty Lagoon! This past weekend, we had an incredible time at our Movie at the Lagoon event featuring the new Little Mermaid movie. Families & friends gathered for a summer night of fun, lounging in inner tubes, splashing around, and enjoying extended hours at our premiere water park.

🧜‍♀️🫧 The highlight of the night? A real-life meet & greet with Ariel herself! We talked, got scales of our own, and enjoyed every moment with our favorite mermaid princess.

🎬✨ Our Theatre's Film Camp had an incredible day at Celtic Studios! Our campers had the opportunity to tour the lot and learn about everything that happens behind the scenes. They discovered that with a little imagination, anything is possible!

🎭 This youth camp is designed to introduce kids to the essentials of filmmaking while creating a fun and supportive environment where they can pursue their passion. With training from industry leaders, our campers are challenged to bring stories to life through moving images.

⚾💪 Over at Athletics Camp, our campers had an action-packed day at Traction Sports Performance, where they trained with the best in town. Guided by some of the best local coaches, they practiced warm-up drills and each took their swing at the plate, honing their skills and learning about teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior on and off the field. Our athletics camp emphasizes fitness, goal setting, and the importance of a strong foundation for a successful future. Keep up the great work, campers! 🏅

Our BREC's Extreme Sports Camp in June was a thrilling success! 🛹🚴‍♂️ Campers, ages 10-13, had an amazing time learning and practicing skateboarding, BMX riding, & scootering. During free ride time, we captured fantastic moments of riders of all shapes, sizes, & wheels showing off their skills and having a blast. This camp focused on fun, learning, & skill development. With daily practice sessions and exciting weekly field trips our campers made the most of their summer. Bikes, skateboards, scooters, & helmets were provided, ensuring everyone could join in the extreme fun! 🛴💥

Check out our BREC's Independence Park Theatre Campers having an absolute blast rehearsing for their production of Space Pirates: The Musical! 🎭🚀

In this camp, our cast of campers (ages 7-11) dove into the world of theatre by producing a full-scale musical in just three weeks! They gained hands-on experience in auditioning, choreography, staging, costuming, and vocal rehearsals, all leading up to the BIG SHOW. Parents, family, and friends are invited to come enjoy the show on the last day of camp.

Space Pirates is an exciting story about Gabby and her classmates who get beamed up to outer space and have to face the challenges of alien adventures and space pirates. It's been a joy to watch our campers grow in confidence & skills through this imaginative journey. 🌟🛸

Our campers are crawling, growling, and prowling through a variety of fun and educational activities. From field trips to the Cajun Pride Swamp Tour and Aquarium in New Orleans to exploring in Folsom, we are having a blast discovering the wonders of the animal kingdom. Campers are enjoying hands-on encounters with fascinating creatures and creating awesome animal-themed crafts. Parents, rest assured, your kids are having a roaring good time! 🐊🦒🐢

🌞🎉 We're having FUN under the SUN at Camp Red Stick during our Field Days! Check out photos of all the excitement from Plank Road Park's Camp. Our campers, aged 11-14, enjoyed a day filled with adventure, fun, and friendship. From splashing down inflatable slides and water gun fights to card games, football, and bubbles, it was non-stop excitement! 🏃‍♂️💦🃏🏈✨

🏊‍♂️🌞 Splashes of joy at Camp Sunshine! Our Adaptive Campers are diving into important water skills, thanks to the expert team at Crawfish Swim School. With the help of highly trained staff and an indoor pool, each camper is practicing the skills they've been mastering all week. We are thrilled to partner with Crawfish Aquatics to make this possible. 💦🦞

Our Sunshine Camp enjoyed a very active morning at BREC's Highland Road Community Park where they flew kites🪁, played kickball☄️, jumped rope, and other fun field activities. They got to make the camp name literal as they soaked up a bit of Vitamin D in the sunshine🌞!

🌞🐴 Thrilling Third Week at Farr’s Horse Lovers Camp! 🐴🌞

🧘‍♀️🌳 International Yoga Day was a huge success! Our community brought the good vibes and gathered to enjoy a rejuvenating day filled with various yoga sessions for all levels. We started with some fun Goat Yoga, followed by an engaging Kids Yoga class. The energy soared with a soothing flow session, and the evening concluded with the serene vibes of R&Breathe. 🪷💚

🌞🎨 This week at Community Recreation's Fit & Fresh themed camp at Highland Road Community Park, we took a creative break with the amazing BREC Art Krewe!
👩‍🎨 👨‍🎨 The older kids unleashed their inner artists by creating their own Jean-Michel Basquiat-inspired dinosaur masterpieces – bold, abstract, and full of complexity. Meanwhile, the younger kiddos had a roaring good time making 3-D lion heads, rawr! 🦖🦁 Check out their incredible artwork and check in here all summer long for more fun activities.

Our Adventure Island campers had a blast this week uncovering the wonders of the natural world! 🌟🌳 One of their favorite activities was making Fruit Loop Bird Feeders using pipe cleaners, twine, and colorful fruit loops. 🌈🐦 They hung their creations around Anna T. Jordan Park for the wildlife to enjoy! 🌸🦜
