New form...new set of challenges...new knowledge...
Handful of big mugs and big vase in drying mode before the bisque...
Teapot looking at you...the way the glaze wraps around that spout...
Tall Vase with texture and multiple layered glazes (17.5in h. x 6.75in w.)
Large wide bowl, 13.5in w. x 4in h. textured, with multiple layered glazes...
A wine bucket for chilling, and goblets for enjoying your wine...
This glaze was developed by my first teacher, ...it has always beguiled me with glossy color variations and subtle specks of iron on the surface. This 15" x 7 # vase wears it well, I think...
This teapot pours like a dream, and holds 44 oz...and I love how the glazes and texture interact...
Tall Vase (16in h. x 7in w.) from yesterday's firing...
Developing a glaze plan for this bisque fired group of pots...I'm excited! Found out I've been juried in for the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Covington, LA in November...need to get busy!
Trying to "get a handle" on my favorite form...
20in Vase...working on pots for fall shows...Although I'll likely pause on doing shows until the fall, I am happy to have customers contact me for items they are interested in over the summer...
Sweet home Louisiana...
I wanted to let all my customers know that I will NOT be able to do the LocalPopUp show at Electric Depot today...hope to see you again soon...
Just unloaded a glaze fire, and I will have some pretty pots to proffer at the popUp this Saturday from 10am-4pm at Electric Depot...(lots of new SMUGS and small cups)
Glaze day...tomorrow...I'm feeling it...
I love my customers, and many of them enjoy small cups rather than larger mugs...I hear you! Tomorrow I will hand pull handles, attach them, and wire these cups off the batts. I will offer these at the next on May 25th...will post results after glazing in about a week...
Yep, we're doing Hot Art Cool Nights tonight...I have some nice pots for you to peruse...come see us from 6pm-10pm 1509 Government St.!
This dude is 18 today...you make your Pawpaw and Grammy proud every day, Ethan...
These SMUGS will hold 18-20oz of your favorite soup, gumbo (and, yes, some of my customers tell me they enjoy drinking coffee with them...) I'll have these available for upcoming shows: May 25: Local Popup. June 1: BR Arts Market
Looking forward to seeing you at Hot Art Cool Nights this Friday! I'll be at Electric Depot along with a great group of artists...gonna be fun (think ginormous Government St. block party with choice shopping...)
“I was gifted one of the fat bottom mugs at Christmas - I love it!
I cup my hands around the bottom and the warmth just radiates.
I read that this feeling is the same for some as a hug.
So you are making hug holders-“

Tall vase, 14in h x 6.5 w from this week's firing...
Oh, the many pitfalls in pottery...this is one of my favorite teapots, and it came out of the kiln early this morning looking great. When I was polishing the pot's foot I noticed the dreaded "S crack", which I had not seen initially, but it was surely there. This usually occurs because of inadequate compression of the base of the pot during throwing. As a result, I can't offer this beautiful teapot for sale. Yep, it sucks... My teacher would say, "Well, that's annoying, but we can always make another, because we love making pots" true 'dat...
Wine service set from this week's firing...I'll be at BR Arts Market opposite Red Stick Farmer's Market this Saturday from 8am-12noon...hope you'll come see what I've made for you...
I'm looking forward to glazing this big vase...it will end up about 12in tall. I has a way to go before being finished, but I'll keep you posted...
These 5oz handled cups are one of my most popular items at shows...I love it when customers return to buy more and tell me how much they are enjoyed...I'll have a few available this Saturday at from 11am-4pm at
Mugshot Monday...it's a thing. Hope you have a happy one! See you at this Saturday from 11am-4pm at Electric Depot where we can talk mugs, cups, vases, teapots, and such...
