We completed our second Lock & Key Club of the year thanks to a partnership with Red River Bank. Tara T. Flugence (NMLS #1991656) Banking Officer, Mortgage Loan Originator/Community Lender with Red River Bank led the sessions.
Tara said, “Many people say that money can’t buy happiness, however, I’m of firm belief that financial freedom definitely can. Facilitating the Lock and Key Homebuyer’s Club through Red River Bank’s partnership with UREC has been nothing short of an amazing experience. Having the opportunity to help potential homebuyers empower themselves with the financial knowledge to successfully purchase a home, or even just to achieve financial stability is a humbling experience. So many people are not provided this wealth of knowledge and so they feel constantly behind or never able to catch up to some of their peers. To be a part of providing the knowledge to help achieve financial wealth and freedom is an experience I will never forget. I’m thankful for our partnership with UREC and look forward to many more opportunities to help members in our community better their lives financially.”
UREC is excited to announce a new partnership with Louisiana Housing Corporation Corporation and the City of Baker, under the leadership of Mayor Darnell Waites, where we are rehabilitating several homeowner-occupied homes in Baker. The program, currently in a pilot phase, provides critical repairs to homeowners who meet eligibility requirements with a $1M investment from LHC.
