SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) Certification through the IAOMT is the way to know you are being maximally protected if amalgam mercury fillings are being drilled out and replaced. I joined IAOMT in dental school and have always practiced this method of safety for me, my team, and my patients. The IAOMT has recently updated the certification program and we have completed our recertification.
