Those going to Matagorda County day in Austin...is it better to go the night before or stay the night after. We can only be away one night and need to make our resrvations. I've heard that most people are staying at the DoubleTree. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like we are going to get some of our South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Plant (STP) contract workers back here in the next week or so. Can't wait to see them. These people are like a second family to us. Call to reserve your favorite spot in your favorite park.

The person from the Corpus Christi area that is going around town doing small asphalt paving jobs came to our business today. He left his business card then called me to ask if we wanted any paving done. We politely declined his offer. He then came back for propane and said some very inappropriate, offensive and vulgar things to our employee. Beware!

My mother, Aunnine Head loved this business. She got such delight in meeting all the customers that come here from all parts of North America. We miss her and my father so much and think about them every day. Today would have been Aunnine's 91st birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!!

These beautiful Longhorn Cattle are at the ranch just on the other side of the river from us.

Chevron Phillips Chemical Sweeny Complex in Old Ocean, TX has begun construction of the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) Petrochemicals Project. The construction includes two world-scale polyethylene units that will each produce 500,000 metric tons of plastic resin every year.
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) phase of the two polyethylene units is being executed through a partnership between Technip USA Inc. and Zachry Industrial.
The economic impact generated from this endeavor is significant; over 400 long-term direct jobs and 10,000 engineering, construction and fabrication jobs will be created.
These kinds of industrial projects are a blessing to our economy. Remember to welcome the workers and their families that come to our area with kindness and gratitude. They are spending a lot of money here in our communities.

Happy Throw back Thursday everyone! The new profile picture is Bert's dog Rusty--he loved to ride on top of my dad's truck or out on the hood. He was a real attention getter. Their truck got traded in for a chariot.
