Time to Check Livestock’s Trace Mineral Levels
Trace minerals play an important role in livestock health. They aid in bodily functions, production of offspring and an animal’s overall wellbeing. A Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory, TVMDL, expert said despite their importance, trace mineral imbalances are easy to overlook — at least until a health issue occurs.
As Texas transitions into the summer season, the available nutrition and supplementation that was sufficient for livestock a few months ago may now be lacking.

Today is . But that’s every day to farmers and ranchers who grow our food, fiber and fuel. They care for their livestock and are committed to protecting the land and natural resources.
We often boast that everything is bigger in Texas. That’s true when it comes to agriculture, too.
The state’s varied climates and soil types enable farmers to grow a wide selection of crops, including grains, fiber, timber, fruits and vegetables. Texans are especially well-known for raising cattle, but sheep, goats and poultry are major sectors of the Texas agricultural economy, as well.
Farming and ranching is a demanding profession. It’s risky, and it sure isn’t easy.
But it’s the satisfaction of a hard day’s work and of doing something for others. Fulfilling dreams. And facing the uncertainty with faith and optimism. Farmers and ranchers are the beating heart of Texas agriculture. And our future.

Why protect farming and ranching in the Texas Constitution? Because food and fiber are fundamental necessities, and those who provide them need protection from regulatory overreach.
Some Texas municipalities have imposed unfair regulations, fines, and restrictions on our hardworking farmers and ranchers – without any real proof of harm to the public.
Prop 1 safeguards Texas farms and ranches. With the state's population set to grow by 18 million in the next two decades, it's vital to ensure a steady supply of food and fiber for our growing state and nation.
Vote YES for Prop 1 on Nov. 7 and support out state’s farmers and ranchers!
