The Opportunity Center
Opportunity Center is a Clubhouse that supports adults who are recovering from mental illness. We hold accreditation from Clubhouse Int'l & Clubhouse Int'l.
Our mission is to provide an environment where individuals can succeed through the promotion of skills, perseverance, a feeling of confidence, respect, and a sense of accomplishment in their endeavors based on a Work-Ordered-Day program. Services at the Opportunity Center are a source of high quality psychosocial services, promoting rights responsibilities, and opportunities for the individuals served to reach their highest potential.
Hoping everyone is enjoying this gorgeous Saturday!! Just a heads up... The O.C. will be closed on WEDNESDAY, 7/17/2024.

๐บ๐ธ Happy Tuesday folks. Tonight's social activity is a cookout with Melissa & the O.C. crew. Hope to see you all there!
Here is the UPDATED activity calendar for July. Beach night will still be with Erika, but it has been moved to Tuesday, 7/23 so she can support Kendall's All Star Team at Softball Districts. It's going to be a fun month ๐๐ฅโฑ๐
One of our colleagues asked us to share this. Carl is a dear friend of our Clubhouse.
People living with mental illness deserve dignity and respect โ plus access to the full care they need to treat and manage their condition. We're calling on local and national leaders to increase public funding and support for community-centered solutions, like Clubhouse.
Recovering from serious mental illness is challenging โ and nobody should have to do it alone. Thatโs why Clubhouses offer community support that helps people find stable housing and keeps them out of hospitals.
The latest OC activity calendar just dropped ๐๐๐
What can most folks agree on?
Our countryโs mental healthcare system is broken, and we need to fund care that helps people BEFORE theyโre in crisis. Thatโs what Clubhouses do.
Share and help spread the word!
This week we are joining in on via social media. We look forward to sharing with you a bit about who we are and why Clubhouse services are a vital part of the community.

April showers bring May Activities ๐ผ๐๐ฟ
April is recognized as U.S. National Stress Awareness Month to bring attention to the impact of stress. Managing stress is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. Knowing how to manage stress can improve mental and physical well-being as well as minimize exacerbation of health-related issues.
Here are some tips on "How to Reduce Stress and Improve Well-Being". Suggestions from the CDC:
*Be activeโTake a dance break! Lift weights. Do push-ups or sit-ups. Or kick around a soccer ball for a few minutes.
*Close your eyes, take deep breaths, stretch, or meditate.
*Write three things you are grateful for.
*Check in with yourselfโtake time to ask yourself how you are feeling.
*Laugh! Think of someone who makes you laugh or the last time you laughed so hard you cried.
*Find an inspiring song or quote and write it down (or screenshot it) so you have it nearby.
Our Clubhouse Model was created to help people face the challenges of mental illness and stress by building communities that invoke communication and open discussion as well as providing meaningful activities with purpose.
Iโm excited to be here with members of Clubhouse Michigan to celebrate employment, self-sufficiency, and independence. Iโm proud that Michigan is home to more clubhouses than any other state โ we have your back, we support you, and we look forward to watching you succeed.
