John Corrado is celebrating his 35th anniversary at Suffolk Transportation Service, Inc. this week. John graduated from the University of Michigan and successfully completed the requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant. After three years he decided to STS and begin the third generation of Corrados in the bus business. “It was an exciting opportunity to continue the legacy started by both sets of grandparents who started their own companies and ultimately became part of the Green Bus Line in New York City”, said John. When John’s dad decided to retire, John assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer. John has led the growth of a company that had three school districts to now one that serves 20 districts in addition to providing all of the paratransit and half of the fixed transit route service under contract to Suffolk County.

John states, “My greatest satisfaction comes from working alongside over 3,000 highly trained caring people who work to provide safe and reliable service to over 25,000 people every day. It is as challenging and rewarding today as it was 35 years ago.”

“John is one of the most highly respected business leaders on Long Island. A reputation that has been earned through hard work and caring for the wellbeing of customers, employees and the community at large” added Executive Vice President Tom McAteer. John said, “with sons Johnny and Joseph joining the team the emphasis has become getting ready to usher in the fourth generation of Corrados as leaders in our most important industry.”

Congratulations John!
