We'll tell you all about Emote in just a sec... but first, we want to let you know that this week, Wednesday, September 11th, EMOTE will be FREE and we'll be filming the class for content! So if you're okay with being on camera, come take advantage of this opportunity to see what this unique class has to offer!

What is Emote?
EMOTE: verb; to portray emotion in a theatrical manner.

This is a class where emotions take center stage! Prepare to unleash your dramatic side as we dive deep into the world of dance expression.
We'll begin with a guided warm-up set to ambient music, allowing you to connect inward and show kindness to your body. Get ready to achieve a zen-like state!

Next, we'll explore choreography. Each session features a song chosen to evoke a specific emotion, giving you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in its essence.

What dance styles will we explore? Imagine a fusion of hip hop, heel-free heels, and contemporary—all blended together to create a dynamic and vibrant movement experience!

Get ready to emote, connect, and dance your heart out with other kind-hearted souls. Socks or barefoot is recommended, as well as prior dance experience. This is an intermediate-level class.

This is not an audition, you’ve already made it! We want you to attend a Sacred St******se Workshop in order to understand the experience you’re signing up for. These Sacred St******se sessions are a beautiful reflection of what you can expect to experience on stage in front of a live audience.

MUSE Definition = A Muse is a person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist. They are a dancer, a comedian, a sinner, a saint, the human next door, and a god/goddess. You will know a Muse by their hypnotic eyes, bright smile, quick wit, and the fluidity in the way they move their body. If you have met a Muse you will be drawn to them. A Muse is also a state of deep thought or dreamy abstraction.

Kara Tatelbaum grew up dancing in the Hudson Valley and she's so excited to be in town sharing her experience as a dancer, performer, mother, pilates instructor, and author with the Passion community.

This Quickie Brunch Retreat is a 2 hour workshop jam packed with amazing offerings!

💜 Meet Kelly 💜

Kelly Zitka is originally from Dallas, Texas, where she trained at Dance Industry Performing Arts Center. She received her BFA in Dance at Southern Methodist University, and went on to travel the world dancing with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Norwegian Cruise Lines. She toured with Odyssey Dance Theatre’s production of Thriller, and was most recently seen in A.D. Players' production of West Side Story. She loves to teach students of all ages and skill levels, and is beyond thrilled to be a part of the team at Passion!

You can find her at Passion on Thursday nights from 7:15-8:30pm teaching INTERMEDIATE HIP HOP! This is a class you 100% don’t wanna miss!

AFRO-BRAZILIAN ORIXA MOVEMENT WORKSHOP

Learn from on Saturday May 6th from 12-1:30pm .the.adult.dance.studio. $29/person, sign up on the Mindbody App or DM us to register. For some reason you can’t sign up on the website.

Afro Brazilian: Orixa Movement is a dance style that stems from the Brazilian Candomblé tradition, which has deep roots in Afro- Brazilian Culture. The influence of orixa movement can be seen in many popular dance styles in Brazil, including Samba.

In this workshop, we will delve into the imagery and meaning of the movements we explore. We will explore our connection to the elements as expressed through our bodies and our connection to nature which inspires our bodies to dance. All levels are welcome!

After the workshop we plan to take our movement into nature (weather permitting). We’re going to walk down the street (5 mins) to the waterfall near The Roundhouse and spend 30 minutes dancing with the elements! This part is totally optional and no extra cost!

Wear something comfy that you can move your body in. During the workshop we’ll be dancing barefoot. If you plan to join us after in nature, bring sneakers for the walk to the waterfall.
