Unite Students
Unite Students is a group of young believers on fire for Jesus. God gave us the vision of reaching students through small groups!
You can connect with your group while growing in your relationship with God. Once a month we have a big party... United Nights are where all small groups participants come and bring their friends for a time of worship, teaching, and exciting surprises! Unite Students is a ministry of Love of Christ Church.
United Night is here again! 🍊🍐🍎
And this month we've got a topic to really sink our teeth into - See what we did there?😂
You know, the way you treat a pair of shoes can tell if it’s worth $20 or if it’s worth $200. That’s what we’re talking about this month- the things we value💸.
Join us next Wednesday, 7PM at the Bear Campus for United Night!
There’s no better way to close out our Unite Students Summer than with COMPETITION!!
We had a blast!
We just packed up and headed to camp and that made us think of the awesome message Landon Pearson shared with us about Baggage.

Today is the birthday of our student ministry director, Jon James! We're so grateful for all that Jon has done for Unite Students, and all that he's invested in the next generation at Love of Christ Church. Happy birthday, Jon! 🎉
Our students are growing up in a world that revolves around social media, and we need to know the ways that it's shaping their views on life, faith, and identity. Check out Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra's podcast on the effects of social media on teenagers here: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/scrolling-alone/
Scrolling Alone: An Article from the Recorded Podcast Sarah Zylstra: “There's no picture we could take, . . . no amount of followers we could gather that could add anything to the finished work of Christ.”
During this year's summer camp, we're focusing on practical ways students can grow deeper in their faith. One great way is evangelism, and Elizabeth Davis gives ten great tips that you can share with your students as they think about how they would go about sharing the gospel. Check them out here: https://www.therebelution.com/blog/2022/06/10-tips-for-sharing-your-faith-with-unbelievers/.
10 Tips for Sharing Your Faith with Unbelievers - The Rebelution Sharing your faith with unbelievers can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are 10 tips to begin sharing your faith with the unbelievers in your life. 1. Listen more than you talk Have you ever noticed a time when you acted like a fantastic listener, saying things like, “yeah” and...
Our students will be heading down to Black Rock Retreat in a little less than a month! Here's a video highlighting some of the facilities Black Rock has to offer.
Here's another great opportunity for students to serve! Dennis shares more about the summerSERVE project he's leading to Sunday Breakfast Mission from 9AM - 12PM on July 30.

Last Wednesday, Dennis spoke to students about the importance of putting Christ at the center of your life, and how Christ fulfills, challenges, and loves us. This month, ask your students what they think about Christ. Who is Christ to them? Have they put him at the center of their lives? What are some ways that they can do that this month?
Some good passages to discuss with your students on this topic would be Matthew 11:28-30, John 14:5-6, Psalms 2, and 1 John 3:16-18.
"Youth need to understand the stories their generation is telling them so they can see Christ’s greater beauty."
Great article on the world our students are growing up to inhabit: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/cultural-stories-gen-z-alpha/.
3 Cultural Stories Shared by Gen Z and Gen Alpha Youth Youth ministry leaders are entering the beautiful and uniquely liminal space between generations that only comes every 15 to 20 years.
Unite Students put on a stirring show last night, complete with great food, fun skits, and good teaching. Check out these pictures! 🍟 🎭 🙌
Just one week until United Night this month! Our students have been hard at work preparing their skits 🎭

Did you know that your student can get involved with summerSERVE too? Haley, one of our leaders, will be leading a team down to A Door of Hope on July 14.
Sign your student up here: https://locc.churchcenter.com/groups/serve-groups/window-cleaning-door-of-hope/.
Our students have planned out their skits. Now it's time for their debut on the big stage! Do they have what it takes to impress our panel of judges and come out on top? The show goes on at Middletown on July 13 at 7 PM, and we'd encourage your kids to bring a friend to cheer them on! We'll be acting out the story of Jesus healing the paralyzed man in Mark 2:1-12, and we'll be talking about what it looks like to make your faith more than just an act.
And just like last United Night, we'll have a bus leaving from the Bear Campus at 6:45 PM, but you'll need to sign up for a seat. We'll see you on July 13!
