Here’s 3 tips to help keep your dark hair color from fading:

✨ Wait 72 hours to shampoo — The reason? The process of coloring your hair opens up the hair cuticle to receive pigment, so one of the most important steps you can take to preserve your color is to allow enough time for the cuticle to close completely!

✨ Take lukewarm showers whenever possible — I hear you, we love hot showers too. But hot water can actually re-open the hair cuticle, allowing color to escape. Cold water, on the other hand, locks your color in.

✨ Use styling products developed specifically for color-treated hair - Your hair color is crying out for nourishing ingredients that provide moisture and protection, not harsh, drying ones.

While we can’t 100% protect our hair from fading all together, you can take simple steps to keep it looking and feeling healthier and more vibrant.

Just remember: a little pampering and protection goes a long way.

Here’s some tips!

It’s okay to start gradual if going darker will be a big switch for you! We can take it slow and offer you a custom plan that will get you to that brunette goal over a couple sessions instead!

Darker hair is much easier to maintain than lighter shades! But you’ll still need touch ups every now and then. Your stylist can help come up with a schedule that works perfectly for you and your new hair color.

Use moisturizing and repairing products to prep your lightened hair to the color process!

- stick to a toner schedule with your stylist! This will keep your blonde looking beautiful + fresh in between lightening appointments
- stock up on those heat protectant & color-safe products! We want to protect your hair in every way possible.
- use a hair mask once a week to give your hair that extra hydration it needs!
- think about investing in a water filter! Some minerals and hard water can lead to your blonde fading faster or becoming brassy!
