Capable, compassionate
I hired Araceli after my first attorney became a family law commissioner and had to find another attorney for myself. I had dealt with long term emotional and physical abuse and my ex had an ongoing domestic violence case against him. Araceli and team were God sent at a time when I was also dealing with a major health issue and custody issues. They were compassionate and understanding of what I was going through. Araceli listened and understood my point of view when I had concerns. She also was diligent enough to explain some legal aspects of my case. She was honest in explaining outcomes at different stages and that was very important for me. She may not look very aggressive but she is very smart, knows how to negotiate with opposing counsel and extremely hardworking. I would always get a call back the same day and there is always someone on the team available to answer my questions. I always felt I was in safe hands and was satisfied with final outcome.

"In over fifty years working with attorneys, Mrs. Amaya stands tall as the very best I have experienced. Mrs. Amaya said she would begin a dialogue with opposing counsel as soon as possible and did so the first day. Utilizing the skillful aplomb of a seasoned attorney, she was able to gain a remarkable working relationship with opposing counsel. On August 18, 1920, Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify the 19th Amendment awarding women the right to vote. The ratification was certified on August 26, 2020, and the amendment was officially adopted into the U.S. Constitution.

100 years. The campaign for women’s suffrage was a long one and it did not stop in 1920. We have come a long way, and we have a long way to go. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is required in every family law matter in King County, with small exceptions. ADR is a confidential, informal and non-adversarial alternative to the legal system.

Over 95% of cases settle their issues in ADR. You can engage in this process with or without an attorney. The county provides ADR services as do private mediators.

3 Mindsets for a Successful ADR session:
