The Berlin Seminar was held by Ushiro Sensei over the weekend of June 17-18, 2023. A total of 40 participants attended from Germany, Italy, Poland, Hungary, and the United States.
One of the themes of this year's seminar was the importance of the inside. It has been about 8 months since the last seminar, during which time Ushiro Sensei has been teaching each branch by Zoom. Based on the videos of Kata and Bunkai submitted by branch chief and sub-branch chiefs, Ushiro Sensei told the Zoom participants that they were finally ready to begin the practice of the inside. At the beginning of the first day of the seminar, Ushiro Sensei told the participants that the inside is invisible and cannot be taught even with Zoom, and that it is more important to experience it through a single touch than anything else.

The Power of Ushiro Karate Attacks: Verification with brass knuckles Part 3
At the end of Jissen Juku and Doshuku, all students who couldn't do it experience"accomplishment" through Ki enablement for all verifications that are not possible by common sense.
In the usual "try" it always hurts. Although we try, there is always hesitation before we do it. That's because the body tells us "It's going to hurt" first. There is no answer on how to do it there.
However, once there is Ki enablement, there is a signal of "I can do it" coming out from the body. When you strike with that sense of "I can", you can do the same thing.
Also, being able to strike iron in an instant and affect five people does not come from the world of "training the fists".
This leads to a world that questions the meaning of the training methods used in general karate, such as striking makiwara.
The answer is there. The important thing is to keep asking why to deepen the journey.

The Power of Ushiro Karate Attacks:
Verification with brass knuckles, Part 2
This is the second verification of strikes.
A third person places their hand on the brass
knuckles and has it striked through it.
If a student does this, the person who placed their
hand on the brass knuckles will be in severe pain.
This could result in a broken bone.
However, when I strike there is no pain at all to
the person, and yet the line of five people gets
moved just like before.
This shows that the force of the strike penetrates
all the way to the back of the line.
This verification cannot be practiced or tried because
it will surely cause injury to the third person.
But why is it "possible"?
What is the truth there?
It is not a world of confrontation and conflict, but a
world of harmony and fusion. In other words, it is a
world of Zero-enablement.
Zero-enablement of the other person is to neutralize
that person, and zero-enablement towards oneself is
to become free. This zero-enablement makes this world
possible.
This world does not exist in an extension of today's
world of confrontation.

The Power of Ushiro Karate Attacks - Verification with brass knuckles Part 1
Recently at Ushiro Jissenjuku and Dojuku, we have demonstrated the true power of a karate attack through the verification of striking into brass knuckles.
A 10 mm thick iron brass knuckles is placed against the belly and gets striked. There are 4 people behind that person in a row to support him.
The students strike him in various ways. As seen in the video, the strikers all screamed in extreme pain when they striked.
But when I do it, it is in a natural stance and there is no pain at all.
The group of 5 people instantly gets moved behind.
What is the difference here?
How is this possible?
What this demonstration reveals is that a world where knowledge and common sense have no answer is being shown as fact.
In a world of common sense, you say "It hurts, so I'm going to put up with it." If a normal person does it, it will follow common sense and there will be pain.
But what I am showing is a world that does not exist in common sense. It is the truth that there is such a world. It is a world where you know you can do it ahead of time. The body tells you "you can do it."

When your body and kokoro are unified and you are seizing your opponent with perceiving eyes（ Kan no me), there is always the moment of "Now" against their attack.
That moment is the real maai. Once you control that maai, you can keep your opponent under control. Keeping your opponent under control can be considered as harmony and unison within bujutsu.

Explosive power is the most important characteristic of Ushiro karate. Ki has a great influence on the flow of techniques.
In terms of "Ji Ri Itchi" (Unity of technique and theory), the starting power is "Ji", the workings of Kokoro is "Ri" and the flow of Ki is Ji Ri Itchi
When Ki and explosive power come together, it becomes tremendous energy. You seize the opponent before they strike. By the time you are ready to strike, the fight is over.
