County Police have filed charges against two individuals in connection with overnight incidents in Bellevue and Ross Township.

On April 6, Bellevue Police and Ross Township Police requested the assistance of the Allegheny County Police Department’s General Investigations Unit regarding multiple males suspected of illegally entering vehicles.

Through their investigation, detectives learned that at approximately 12:30 am, a woman returned to her home on Clarion Avenue in Ross Township. While inside her residence, she heard voices outside and discovered three individuals going through her vehicle. One of the individuals, later identified as 18-year-old Zymon Campbell of Pittsburgh, pointed a handgun at the woman and demanded she go back inside her home.

At approximately 3:00 am, County 9-1-1 dispatched an officer with Bellevue Police to Laurel Avenue for reports of two individuals attempting to enter parked vehicles. When the officer encountered the individuals, they fled on foot. During the pursuit, a firearm was discharged by one of the individuals as he attempted to scale a fence. That individual was taken into custody moments later. The second individual, later determined to be Campbell, was detained shortly after and was found to have a loaded magazine with .45 caliber ammunition. Two fi****ms were recovered by detectives during the investigation.

Campbell is facing multiple charges to include simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and carrying a firearm without a license. The second male was identified as a 17-year-old and charges will be handled through juvenile court.
