2%! That's nothing when compared to the explosion that happened to Real Estate in prior years. Supply is super low, maintaining some buyer competition. volume may be down, but value is retained. Projections from most experts point towards a slight value increase throughout 2024, maybe 1-3%. Some predictions are at flat. If rates decrease opening the doors for more buyers, this number will rise.
None of the experts are predicting a significant decrease in in home values in 2024.

I spent 3 years on the wrong side...
It took 3 years for me to realize that being a Residential Lender was not the right fit for me. I helped people borrow the money they needed to buy the home they wanted. I loved the industry. I have been successful doing it. But I was on the wrong side of the transaction.
You will hear people say things like “the lender in the transaction is like the Referee to any sport.” ABSOLUTELY correct. The lender does not make the rules. They do, however, need to make sure everyone is playing by the rules, or else funding is denied. These never ending rules and regulations set forth by the government are also constantly changing. On top of the government rules a reg’s, lenders also have overlays (rules and reg’s set by your company, over and above the governments rules). On top of all of these rules, you have compliance to deal with. If you have never had to deal with compliance on a day to day basis, I am sincerely jealous. The challenge was awesome. But, it wasn’t as fulfilling as thought it would be. I always felt as though I could be helping you, the customer, much more then just obtaining financing.
My ultimate goal is to help people realize that owning your first home is not as hard as you might think. That selling and moving from that starter home to a home with more space is a couple pieces of information away from becoming a reality. And that finding the ultimate home of your dreams just takes a little planning. For my investors out there? Learn to get your first rental or flip, and the rest is history. You might have an awesome system in place. Can you be buying money for cheaper then you are currently?
I want you to know this information. The real knowledge that will educate you into action. Compliance on the lending side would not allow 90% of the information that I was wanting to share.
