Today is World Physical Therapy Day! This year, World Physiotherapy will be promoting the role of physio/physical therapists in the prevention of osteoarthritis and in the management of people affected by osteoarthritis.
LTHC Physical Therapy would like to recognize and congratulate our very own Dr. Abby Lee on receiving her board certification in orthopedic Physical Therapy! To be able to sit for your Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) it takes a rigorous course of study that culminates in a challenging board exam.

Meet Dr. Kara Knox, DPT, WCS! Dr. Knox began her higher-level education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2009. She received a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in 2012 from Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Knox has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 2011. In 2019, Dr. Knox received a Certificate of Achievement in Obstetric Physical Therapy and in 2020, a Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy through the APTA. She received her board certification as a Women's Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) through the APTA in 2021. Her specialty practice includes treatment for urinary incontinence, urinary frequency and urgency, f***l incontinence, constipation, pain with in*******se, pregnancy-related symptoms, postpartum care, menopausal changes, and athletes, especially runners. Meet Dr. Abby Lee, DPT! Dr. Lee began her higher-level education at Virginia Tech and received a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise in 2011. She received a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in 2014 from University of Lynchburg. In 2019, Dr. Lee received a Certification of Orthopedic Manual Therapy from the Ola Grimsby Institute. Dr. Lee has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 2011. She is currently working on obtaining her board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from the APTA. Dr. Lee has treated patients across the lifespan ranging from 2 weeks to 90+ in age. Her past clinical settings include orthopedics, pediatrics, skilled nursing, and acute care in neurology and multisystem intensive care units. She has experience in treating patients post-surgery, post-motor vehicle accident, post-stroke and those with arthritis, sport injuries, vestibular dysfunction, scoliosis, and torticollis. He received his board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 2016. Dr. Larner has received other certifications including Selective Functional Movement Assessment Levels 1 and 2 in 2016 and Certification of Orthopedic Manual Therapy from the Ola Grimsby Institute in 2019. He has been a member of the APTA since 2007 and has been an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor since 2013. Dr. Larner enjoys working with a diverse population of patients and treating a wide variety of orthopedic, musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions.
