I enjoyed a trull epic ride this week with in the north cascades right at the peek of larch season. It was all incredibly stunning. It wasn’t an easy ride. 2 hrs and 2400 ft of elevation to reach 7400 ft. And I kept thinking of this quote as I realized what I had the pleasure of experiencing. “The further up and further in you go, the bigger everything gets.” 📸
Seeing the first signs of the seasons changing today on my ride. 🚵♂️🌲🌲
If we could collectively shift our focus from seeking to ”arrive” to being in a constant state of “arrivING,” maybe we could all become kinder, more patient, gracious, inclusive, humble, and confident.
Introducing Kids shirts! I made these while ago and just haven’t gotten chance to put them on my shop yet with the busyness of summer. I got samples in the spring and my 3.5ish year old son has been wearing them all summer. In fact he digs around for whenever he knows he will be biking because it’s his “bike shirt.” I hope your kids love them as much as he does.
As you can see in the picture, he took a spill and got a bit dirty. Biking is such a great way to teach the “further in and further up” ethos to kids. Brush it off, keep at it, and trying new things means you won’t be good at it. At first. We all started there, we all are there and together we can get better and be better.

“It a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest most uninteresting person you can talk to may one day be a creature which,if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption such as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. All day long we are, in some degree helping each other to one or the other of these destinations. It is in the light of these overwhelming possibilities, it is with the awe and the circumspection proper to them, that we should conduct all of our dealings with one another, all friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations - these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit - immortal horrors or everlasting splendors.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory
“As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on thing and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down you cannot see something that is above you.”
― C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

The more you go the more you see. The more you see the more you go.
My wife and I celebrated 18 years of marriage by hiking the Park Butte trail in the MT. Baker wilderness area last Saturday.
I hope you all have had an awesome summer. I’ve taken a little time off from from Instagram for the most part but getting ready to fire it up again with some more quotes, pictures and hopefully new products!
I sent my Dad a t-shirt for Fathers Day and he got it a couple days ago. He asked if I wanted him to model. I of course said “Yes. Give me your best pensive and brooding poses.” 😂 he delivered.
Some sweet old school at church.
Our Heavenly Father has provided many delightful inns for us along our journey, but he takes great care to see that we do not mistake any of them for home. - C. S. Lewis
Aim at heaven and you will get Earth thrown in… aim at Earth and you will get neither. ~C.S Lewis

“Behind these practical studies lay powerful, intertwined, and potentially contradictory beliefs: that language provides a key to the rational, scientific understanding of the world and that language is more than human speech, that it claims a divine origin and is the means by which God created the cosmos and Adam named the beasts.
As we will see, both ideas strongly influenced the Inklings, whose leading members wrote many words about the meaning of words. For Owen Barfield, language is the fossil record of the history and evolution of human consciousness; for C. S. Lewis, it is a mundane tool that "exists to communicate whatever it can communicate" but also, as in That Hideous Strength, an essential part of our metaphysical makeup for good or ill; for Charles Williams, language is power, a field of force for the magician, a vehicle of prayer for the believing Christian; for Tolkien, language is a fallen human instrument and a precious divine gift ("O felix peccatum Babel!" he exclaimed in his essay "English and Welsh"), a supreme art, and, as "Word", a name for God.”
― Philip Zaleski, The Fellowship: The Literary Lives of the Inklings: J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Owen Barfield, Charles Williams
