PACE bus Route 310 is detoured around the closure.

Our members are currently providing Rehab and Cooling for the Franklin Park Fire Department at their 2-11. A big thank you to the Franklin Park public works department for bringing out more water.

Wow, what a few nights we've had. 3 consecutive nights with major rain and thunderstorms. Last night our members were out assisting public works with tree removal from the storm. This big one was at 49th and Randolph.
The second graphic shows all the areas the weather service has to evaluate. One of those lines goes thru Hillside and just south of Bellwood into Broadview.

URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 541 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 650 PM CDT Mon Jul 15 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Extreme east central Iowa Northern Illinois Northwest Indiana Southwest Lower Michigan Extreme southern Wisconsin Lake Michigan * Effective this Monday night and Tuesday morning from 650 PM until 100 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... A few tornadoes likely Widespread damaging winds and scattered significant gusts to 90 mph likely Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to evolve into one or more bow echoes from Iowa into northern Illinois this evening, with the potential to produce swaths of significant severe gusts up to 75-90 mph and several tornadoes with embedded circulations. The storms will spread into northwest Indiana and southwest Lower Michigan later tonight. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 100 statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles northwest of Benton Harbor MI to 55 miles south southeast of Marseilles IL. MODERATE LEVEL UPGRADE for derecho event expected across and northern today! As the day evolves the atmosphere is becoming colliery unstable with little cloud cover or inhibiting factors. The stage appears set for a significant wind event. This will include QLCS tornadoes which is why SPC has also upgraded to a 10% for N IL!

Today our members are at Community Park, 10201 Bond St, in the Village of Westchester for Day 2 of their fest. After a brief rain the party is still going along with Hillside Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management and Maywood Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

We shared a few weeks ago that the old village building was torn down, we are pleased to share the new visions for Bellwood!! We are excited for the future.

St Charles is Closed from Speechly in Berkeley to 48th in Bellwood until the fireworks show is over @ 5000 St Charles Rd

St. Charles will be closed in both directions from 51st/Jerele to 49th for at 9:05 PM until the display is over.

We will update once the roadway is open

Our members along with Hillside Emergency Management are out today doing traffic control on St Charles Rd at St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Cathedral of Chicago for their yearly celebration and parade. St. Charles is down 1 lane in each direction from 49th to 51st with a temporary STOP sign in place for the temporary crosswalk.

At approximately 9:00 PM St. Charles will be closed temporarily for the fireworks display.

Today was a dual function for our neighbors Village of Westchester. We had members from BDHSEM & Hillside Emergency Management assisting with traffic control for the 4th Of July Parade along with the Bellwood Rehab bus participating in the parade itself while members were also participating in the Villa Park Parade.

Please be aware that this coming Sunday, July 7th, The Mar Thoma Cathedral will be having its Annual festivities. There will be some street closures, along with lane reduction on St Charles from 49th to 51st/Jerele.

Part of our busy Saturday was proudly providing the Rehab bus in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics for all the participants. The bus was there for anyone that needed to cool down and take a break for a bit from the heat. It was a hot one.

Great job by all of the participants!

Today is a busy day. Currently we have members providing traffic control for the Village of Bellwood Community Clean & Green Day. Groups are spread out throughout the village.

Earlier we had our Rehab bus providing support for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics from Forest Park to Hillside.

We'll be providing assistance later on to our neighbors in Village of Westchester this afternoon.

Our members are currently assisting the Village of Westchester with traffic control on Roosevelt Rd between 25th Ave & Mannheim Rd for Juneteenth Event.
