In this morning’s church sermon, our preacher highlighted that “honoring the Sabbath” is likely the most ignored of the Ten Commandments.
It’s a day made for men & women - set aside for spiritual reflection, family, and self-care. Not everyone recognizes the Sabbath as the gift it’s meant to be, though.
Whether you observe the Sabbath in a religious sense or simply as a time for personal restoration, we need 3 things:
to pause,
be fully present,
and let go.
✨I encourage you to find your own ways to unwind and nourish your spirit on the weekend.✨
Ideas:.
* Take a leisurely walk around your neighborhood alone with your own energy (no music, podcasts, or other distractions)
* Savor a simple, quiet dinner with your loved ones
* Take a few hours to fully immerse yourself into a hobby you love
* Read a soul-nourishing book (the subject matters!)
* Take a long epsom salt bath in candlelight
* Do qigong, breath work, gentle yoga, and other mindfulness practices
What else can you do to give yourself more space to consciously relax? 😌
lf you don’t see the value in it, or you’re not able to prioritize rest time, then chances are you will experience a gap in your physical, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual health.
Let’s commit to living simply and deeply. Let go of the superficial and embrace what truly nourishes your soul.

🌸Got Allergies? 🤧 I’m seeing a lot of allergy cases in my practice right now with newer clients, and I’ve been sharing my personal experience with them of how Chinese Medicine and lifestyle changes helped me heal from allergies > 15 years ago.

🍂 The Autumn transition is tough for many people.
They resist slowing down because of end-of-year priorities,
holiday fun ( & stress!),
or they’re just uncomfortable with quietude & getting deep with self-reflection.
Autumn governs the Metal Element in Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as the sister/brother organs/channels of the Lungs and Large Intestine.
There are many other qualities of this period than what is in the images here, which you can learn from a TCM practitioner.
While we can all align with the prompts here, people who have an excess or deficiency of the Metal element in their constitution will likely need more help this time of year.
Don’t wait for imbalances to show up in your body!
We get plenty of clues energetically and emotionally - ahead of any physical manifestations of dis-ease.

I 💖 quiet, relaxing weekends - especially mellow Sunday afternoons.
This is when I take plenty of time to walk, do yoga, meditate, journal, and knit - all in silence - to help me clear my energy and honestly reflect on how the previous week went.
Inspiration floods into the spaciousness I've created, so it's easier to plan the week ahead for my personal life, home, family, and business.
It's one of the best lifestyle habits I have! 🙌
It keeps me organized and helps immensely to stay ahead of stress.
Plus, I go to bed feeling set and wake up on Monday morning feeling eager & excited. 😁 It makes a HUGE difference on my mindset and how the week flows!

Many of us are winding down our summer plans and getting back to a more solid routine for fall.
Your family's sleep schedule may feel a little out of control if you're been staying up later and sleeping in. I know that some of you are needing to get your kids back on track before school starts and that may be stressing you out a bit.

I completely understand why you may want to use Melatonin to resolve this. Because the body makes it, you may consider it a perfectly "natural" and safe option. And for quick adjustments to your sleep, like recovering from jet lag, it's fine.
I've always been concerned though, when women and their families use Melatonin before any other natural sleep aids when tackling bigger sleep problems.

The Full Moon in Aquarius, ruled by the air element, is mainly influencing the big shift we're seeing this month.

I've had to beef up my meditation practice and really confront some unhelpful self-talk - all in a period of 48 hrs! 😂
So please know I'm dealing with this too.

🤷🏻♀️ When we or a family member is unwell, sometimes it's hard to know when to trust (let the body heal alone), when to treat, and what type of medicine to use if you do need treatment.
A situation came up this week with our new kitten 🐱 that made me re-think my all-natural approach!
After reflecting on this, I realized that I actually have 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢 that needs to be met for me to use conventional, Western Medicine. Knowing this about myself makes these decisions so much easier!!!

I realize though, that for some of you, it may be the opposite. Maybe you use conventional medicine most of the time - until something unpleasant happens and you realize natural medicine is the best choice for that situation.
And if there's any rigidity around not wanting to go to "the other side", that's a good thing to know about yourself too!

I have an extensive background in science (M.S. Molecular Biology and worked in the biotech industry for 8 years) as well as Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Whole Food Nutrition, & Aromatherapy.
