SEED: Rock County Cohort
SEED: Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity is a peer led, cohort model for personal and professional development.
Asking for love and energy for the first seminar of SEED cohort 7 tonight 💚💚💚
We are looking to enroll new members into the 7th Cohort of Rock County SEED!!! 💚
What is SEED?
The National SEED Project on Inclusive Curriculum is a peer-led professional development program that promotes change through self-reflection and interpersonal dialogue, and builds capacity for more equitable curriculum, educational environments, and communities.
SEED seminars are facilitated by individuals who have been trained as SEED leaders and members who have participated in SEED in the past. SEED seminars are not set up in a lecture format. Instead, they lead colleagues in experiential, interactive activities and conversations often stimulated by films and readings. The monthly seminars deepen participants’ understanding of themselves, expand their knowledge of the world, and point the way to making more inclusive systems. In each seminar, SEED participants use their own experiences, systemic thinking and SEED scholarship to deepen school curricula, as well as engage community members in equitable and diverse systems. SEED values our voices so we can, in turn, better value the voices within our community.
We are looking to begin a new cohort! Learn why!
We are excited to announce that we are opening applications for a May 2023 - March 2024 Rock County SEED: Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity Cohort! Seminars will be held monthly in Beloit, and if you are a Rock County area resident, educator, community agency, or someone else interested in engaging in a 10 month cohort based opportunity in Personal and Professional Learning, please reach out to Jen Davis Paepke or Robin Pulliam Bye & Nailah Adama ASAP! Thanks!

It is a profoundly emotional and cinematic film about the true story of Mamie Till Mobley‘s relentless pursuit of justice for her 14 year-old son, Emmett Till, who, 1955 was brutally lynched while visiting his cousins in Mississippi. In Mamie’s poignant journey of grief turned to action, we see the universal power of a mothers ability to change the world.
