Please consider donating what you can. Amounts listed below are the minimum requested per card. We will also take donations of larger amounts, or multiple cards. BLA has 39 of the 403 identified youth. We need really need the community's help. Thank you in advance for you generosity.
BLA students and their families are in great need of grocery and gas cards. We have a lot of families who are allowing homeless students to stay with them, or allowing entire second families to stay with them, and they need help putting food on the table and gas in the cars to get to and school. ATTENTION!!! School social workers!! There is a social work position open at Merrill Elementary School! Anyone licensed or able to be licensed on a temporary license through DPI should apply. This position will offer a chance to work with some amazing kids, families, and staff, and will be very rewarding.
Qualifications: Masters degree in social work and certification in school social work, a license or able to get a temporary license through DPI.

February is Black History Month. As we prepare to recognize and celebrate please visit https://blackhistorymonth.gov/ to learn more about the struggles of the African American citizens throughout time and gain ideas to recognize accomplishments by people who have struggled and fought for equality for centuries, and are still fighting.

Loads2Success - SDB in the Spotlight Tune in to learn about Loads2Success. A student-led, non-profit program that provides free laundry services for those in need, while teaching our students life and job skills.
November is National Homelessness Awareness Month. There are currently 44 students attending Beloit Learning Academy who qualify as homeless under the Federal McKinney-Vento Law, meaning they do not have a fixed, regular, or adequate nighttime residence. Of those 44, there are 32 students living without a parent or legal guardian. This means they are staying with other families, going from house to house staying with random friends, living in cars, group homes, shelters. We are asking for the items mentioned below, but there are many, many more items needed that are not listed. If you feel moved to donate in some way but are not sure how to help, please call me at 608-361-4345 during the school day, or message me on Facebook Messenger. Please don't let the suggested amounts below limit your giving. We will take whatever your heart moves you to give.
Students from BLA and BMHS are preparing to host a "Loads 2 Success" clothes washing service for people in the community. They are in need of supplies before they can begin this free service. Please consider donating the supplies listed below.
