What better way to beat the heat than with a lemonade stand?! 🍋 Our residents helped to quench everyone’s thirst during this heat wave by selling freshly squeezed lemonade. Of course they also got to enjoy a glass themselves.☀️💛

We wanted to “kick-off” the weekend in our favorite college football team attire! The season starts tomorrow, but we started celebrating today. We made buckeye necklaces in therapy and had a tailgate party with lots of game day snacks while DJ Johnny Blue kept the party going! Today was definitely a touchdown! 🏈

We are very proud to announce that Rockland Ridge has achieved a deficiency-free survey with the Ohio Department of Health!

Chelsea Holsinger, Rockland Ridge's Administrator, shared, "I am so incredibly grateful for our team here at Rockland. It is hard to put into words what this deficiency-free annual survey means to me and the rest of the team. This is something we have all worked extremely hard for since the day we opened. The compassion, loyalty, and hard-working staff we have at Rockland are truly top-tier."

Hungry Hungry Hippo! Thanks to Kim King from Amedysis Hospice for stopping by to jazz up our morning coffee hour with a fun game of Hungry Hungry Hippo. There were lots of laughs and a fun time had by all!!

Congratulations to our July Employee of the Month, Wendy Irvin! Wendy is a housekeeper here at Rockland and started with us shortly after we opened. She cares deeply about the residents and treats them as if they are her own family. She takes the time to get to know them, and even comes in on her days off to spend time with them. Her compassion shines through everyday and we are so thankful to have her on our team. 💜

Aloha from Rockland Ridge! 🌺 This week we celebrated everything Hawaii. Everyone dressed in their Hawaiian shirts and flower leis. Chef Jeff, sticking to traditional luau dishes, prepared a scrumptious slow roasted pork (straight from the source), coconut grilled shrimp, pineapple vegetable stir fry, and Kings Hawaiian rolls. We finished the afternoon sipping Piña coladas and strawberry daiquiri mocktails while enjoying the sounds of Hawaii.🍍🍓🌴

No better way to cool off than with a friendly and fun water battle! Lots of laughs and smiles as the residents surprised the staff and soaked them as they walked through the court yard!

It was an amazing day to be outside, which is exactly what we did! ☀️ Our amazing therapy squad created an eventful morning full of games and exercises. We refueled with hotdogs and fresh lemonade. 🍋 And we couldn’t end the fun until we had some dessert from the Mister Softee Ice Cream truck! 🍦

It’s been 3 years since our doors officially opened at Rockland Ridge! Today we celebrated with a Western Theme. We tip our hats to the great folks who have saddled up and rode with us all this time. The third year anniversary is to be celebrated with a leather gift, so we passed out little leather journals to all the staff members. And what better to way to celebrate an anniversary than with a special Western themed menu for the residents?! We had Smoked Yard Bird with Texas BBQ, Ranch Hand Ribs with 49ers Gold Sauce, Bronco Busting Baked Beans, Smokehouse Mac & Cheese, Campfire Sweet Potato Casserole, Rodeo Red Pepper Slaw, Cattle Drive Cornbread, and Cow Patty Pie! One more big yeehaw as we celebrate and say thanks to all! 🤠

Yesterday was quite the treat! Ben Katzara stopped by for a special "cake show.” He entertained us with playing music on the viola and then wowed us as he creatively decorated a vanilla bean layered cake. The result was quite the masterpiece! And it tasted just as amazing as it looked! 🧁

Happy Independence Day! 🤍 What better way to kick off 4th of July celebrations than with a “booming” hot dog bar! 💥 This was the perfect timing considering July is also National Hotdog Month! Staff and residents were decked out in red, white, and blue as we all celebrated together! Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday! ❤️💙

Congratulations to our June Employee of the Month, Melissa Weaver! Melissa is a STNA here at Rockland and although she is newer to the facility, her impact has been felt by all. She is a great leader, an incredibly hard worker, and she takes pride in the care she provides. We are very thankful to have her on our team and appreciate all she does for our residents! 🧡

We are thrilled to receive such wonderful feedback from the staff at our local Belpre Marietta Memorial Hospital physician's offices! Your kind words mean the world to us, and we are so grateful for your support and appreciation of our nursing home. 💙

Last week we had 2 anniversary’s to celebrate! Pictured first, Bill and Shirley Stanley, who celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary! 🩷 Pictured second, John and Evelyn Doll, who celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary! 🤍 We were so happy to be able to witness the love and joy between these two couples. We also wanted to give a special shout out to our wonderful nurse, Ashley Wiseman, who provided special cupcakes to help as we celebrated the love! 💕

We had a wonderful time this week celebrating our amazing STNAs! We fed them with tacos, wings, Bob Evan’s, Jimmy John’s, and Chick-fil-A! We also gifted them with personalized bags, pens, and a t-shirt that said “Difference Maker.” We couldn’t think of a better way to describe the incredible and hard-working people we have who are truly the difference makers in our residents’ lives. We are so thankful for each and everyone them! Happy STNA week! 💙💚

We love promoting our Culture of Care to the community! That's why we look forward to the first Friday of the month where we head to the senior center for cooking classes. The seniors and staff love hanging out with Chef Jeff and sampling some of Rockland's wares. Sometimes even learning something along the way!

We had such an amazing time and absolutely love any chance we get to work with the Belpre Senior Center! 🤍💙

Congratulations to our May Employee of the Month, Amber Lauer! Amber is an LPN at the facility and is someone we can always count on. She is flexible, adaptable, and exudes a calming presence which is not only wonderful for her coworkers, but her residents as well. She is an amazing nurse and treats the residents like they are her own family; they are constantly bragging on her. We are so thankful to have her on our team! 🤍

When a resident comes to our facility for rehabilitation, our goal is to give them the tools to be able to leave our facility with a higher quality of life and give them the means for continued success once they return home. We love watching the hard work they put in and we celebrate the victories with them!
