In addition, Joe has been a contributing member of Bensalem Rotary Club for 12 years currently serving on our board. We appreciate his leadership and dedication to our community. He truly exemplifies Service Above Self.
Our person of the year, Jim Mirra is an inspiration to our young students in Bensalem School District. As a parent himself, it was important for him to contribute his time and knowledge to coaching our students in First Robotics. He was nominated by a teacher who has worked with him in the district and Jim has certainly stood out as being selfless and dedicated to helping develop programs and lead our students to success for tomorrow.
Congratulations to both Joe and Jim, we thank you for your outstanding contributions and leadership.

Recently the community made the Bensalem Rotary Club aware of comments and beliefs being shared by a former member that are not representative of the views of the Rotary Club. We completely condemn these beliefs and rhetoric. It is not and was not representative of the Rotary Club the mission of selflessly serving the community, particularly those that are underrepresented in the community.
Bensalem Rotary will continue to follow the Rotary “Service Above Self” motto as we move forward in the most productive way possible.
Rotary International, and the Bensalem Rotary Club are deeply committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Rotary International has a specific policy which the Bensalem Rotary Club follows. It states:
“As a global network that strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, Rotary values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, s*x, s*xual orientation, and gender identity.
Rotary will continue to cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture in which people from underrepresented groups have greater opportunities to participate as members and leaders.”
Please accept our apology that a former member, who we knew for supporting our efforts to fight hunger in our community, misused our communications network, and made statements that do not represent the beliefs, actions or attitudes of our members.
