This week one of our estimators inspected this triplex where a devastating fire occurred causing all three tenants to lose most if not all of their possessions and become displaced right before the holidays. Unfortunately, not one tenant had renters insurance coverage.

If you rent and you do not have it, please consider renters insurance coverage. If you have a friend or family member who rents, this holiday discuss the necessity for renters insurance with them. To often our Company handles large losses where the renter sadly had no insurance. A renters policy could be very inexpensive when added to an auto policy.

For those of you who follow our social media but not the local weather forecast, temperatures will drop from nearly 60° to 10° in a matter of hours. The cold temperatures will remain for several days causing for a risk of pipe bursts.

PURO-TEC Pro Tips: 1️⃣ Shut off exterior hose bibs / faucets if you have not already. 2️⃣ Extreme cold temperatures are not the time to save energy. Keep your thermostat above 55° but preferably much higher. 3️⃣ Open kitchen cabinets and vanity doors where pipes in danger of freezing are located so warm air can circulate. 4️⃣ If possible install foam pipe insulation over pipes where accessible. 5️⃣ If able seal exterior gaps with expanding foam. Wind and extreme cold is a recipe for freezing pipes. 6️⃣ If needed allow hot & cold faucets to drip slowly to help prevent them from freezing.
