Second Mile Shop
Created in 1986 by First Congregational Church UCC of Berea, and now its own 501c(3) organization, the Second Mile Shop sells donated furniture, appliances, household items, and clothing at reasonable prices.
The store also serves as a warehouse for goods-in-waiting to be delivered at no charge to people in need, including veterans in transition.
Volunteers from many churches and civic organizations from Berea and the surrounding communities assist in operating the store. Community service appointees from the courts help to fully staff the shop. The shop also redistributes appliances, furniture, and bags of clothing to families in need, centers, and shelters throughout Cuyahoga County. When downsizing to a smaller home, decluttering, or upon the death of a loved one, people are often grateful that their donations help those in less fortunate circumstances.
The Second Mile Shop protects the environment by recycling usable goods. Donations are accepted during store hours: Wednesday-Saturday 9am-5pm.
