Cadets;

Health Credit up-date: The Edgenuity program for this year will close out 15 May 2020. Please get it finished by then if at all possible. If there is a legitimate reason for an extension you can discuss with Mrs Dolen in the counseling office.

Cadets,
A lot going on this week! Seniors are getting their pictures taken and this is the last week for school. I am still working on getting your JROTC photos from the company that took them so I will continue to pursue options. The awards for this year are being worked and we will pursue all available options to have an awards event this summer or at the beginning of next school year.
Seniors,
Senior grades have been posted so if there is an issue with your grade get with me ASAP!

Underclassmen,
This is make up week so let's get NTI assignments in or work on your on-line health class if needed.

Uniforms,
If you are not coming back please return your uniforms to MSHS's main office this week (between 9am-1pm). They should be dry cleaned and in plastic if at all possible.

Lastly,
My challenge to you today! Go back through all the posts on this page (I did this weekend) and look at ALL the amazing accomplishments this corps has achieved for the School and the community. Be proud of all the good that we have accomplished as a group and I expect nothing less in the years to come! I am proud to have been part of this outstanding group of young men and women. During my 30 year military career, where I was honored to be selected to oversee 40,0000 SF troops as their senior enlisted leader in the Pentagon, I always tried to led for the 99% of the Airmen that do IT right day in and day out and not get sidetracked by the 1% that will always be there in life taking away from the good others do. I will miss you all:)

The Air Force JROTC program is designed not as a recruitment tool for the services but instead to build better citizens. Unfortunately some of the cadets in MSHS's program did not gain that insight. Any AFJROTC cadet found to have acted inappropriately in any matter will be swiftly removed from the program. There are over 100 cadets in this program and they have done some amazing things for the local community but the actions of just a few have ruined all their hard work and left a student feeling understandably extremely hurt. The Air Force, Madison Southern High School, Major Nugen nor I condone any of the alleged behavior and are working to ensure the cadets in question are investigated and dealt with using administrative/legal action. Please know, that we will immediately be concentrating and/or refocusing as part of our core values the importance of including all students regardless of diverse backgrounds.

More info on the health class...here is a picture of the web site. Each cadet has their own password and log in. If they are locked out they must call the school and ask for Mrs Dolen to reset it. If they already had the actual health class they will not have access.

Cadet Guardians I need your help!
1) The school allowed us to participate in a special Health Credit program this year and most of our Freshmen and some of our upper classmen cadets have NOT taken advantage of this offer that expires 18 May 2020. Each cadet has their own password and log on so I cant post that on FB. I can send it, again, to your cadet if I receive an e-mail asking for it from them or you.
2) I have placed the freshman "study Guide for next year" in our NTI folder at the school's front office and our NTI folder on the school's web-site...this is NOT a final but is part of their grade for this year(it is open book/internet) The other classes should be posted soon

Guardians and cadets. Here is a copy of the NTI assignments and school feeding program while you are out over the next few weeks. You only have to do NTIs 4- 17 unless we miss more school. The Major and I are available daily and will make sure we are actively monitoring emails and other venues from 9-2pm Monday through Friday. We also will have our Corp commander send out information and check on cadets using our Remind messaging option. The military ball is cancelled for now and I am working to reschedule the event. If we can do anything to help during this turbulent time please let us know.

Last marksmanship tournament of this school year. Great job cadets we got 3rd overall and Sarah got 1st place in standing

The weather finally cooperated and the cadets got to go on their ski trip. A fun filled day and no injuries!!

We had a great time bowling with the color guard cadets! Reward for all their sacrifice and hard work this year!!

Cadets did a great job as usual helping out in the community! Just got a call from the Baptist Health leadership thanking us for their assistance last Saturday!

Couldn’t be prouder of a bunch of young men and women! They worked hard to be ready for this Air Force level inspection and it showed! Now we can enjoy the holiday break and get ready for the Military Ball! Oh and the after the inspector left stress relief dance off

Hosted Jackson County Army JROTC tonight in a marksmanship match. They are one of the best in the nation and they showed us why. Good competition and sportsmanship! Good luck in North Carolina this weekend!

What an awesome trip we have been having in Tennessee! The Tennessee national guard took great care of us with an amazing ride in a C17 and today the cadets got to enjoy Main Event Entertainment Center. One last stop at Cicis pizza and then on to Kentucky. The cadets, all 50 of them, have been awesome and we appreciate our wonderful chaperones and bus driver.

Cadets did an amazing job at Arcadian Cove and Golden Corral for Veterans Day! Huge shoot out to the Golden Corral manager/owner in Richmond for all he does for Veterans each year !

Good to see the juniors working with the freshmen! They are very patient with them!😁

Brian and James received a well done coin from from the principals for their efforts at the football game Friday and band competition Saturday!
