Remember the importance of a quick 5-minute stretch. It can effectively alleviate muscle tension, providing relief after long periods of sitting or working in the same position.
Focused stretching, especially on the back, shoulders, and neck, can significantly improve your posture by targeting tight areas that may cause misalignment.
Committing to a brief stretching routine can reinvigorate you, sharpen your alertness, and leave you feeling more energized, especially when you're experiencing sluggishness or fatigue.
If you need some extra care, see my availability for August below.

It's been almost 5 years since I've opened Cuyahoga Massage Therapy! Thank you to all who have supported me and my small business! 💜
You have the power to heal and I can help you in that journey. 🧡
A tight scalp can compress a whole lotta things that can cause you to experience headaches, facial pain, and even neck pain.
Stress, posture, and poor breathing can all contribute to creating a band of tension around the head.
If you've been experiencing a lot of tension in the neck and head lately, it's time to schedule a massage to help.
'Listen to it whisper before you're forced to hear it scream.'
What are we told to do when our electronics become slow and unresponsive? To power it off and back on. So what does that do? We know it force closes all the apps and whatever is running in the background. And what usually happens? It's responsive and works again.
We all need a reset like that sometimes. Maybe it will need to be more often, especially if it's been particularly stressful in your life.
Unfortunately, nothing in our lives is a quick fix like powering off and on the phone. However, making time for yourself, like getting a massage, practicing meditation, or trying some yoga, can be the reset we need before our bodies and minds tell us NO MORE.
How can massage, meditation, and yoga be a way to reset?
Each delivers a unique space of rest, only requiring you to do two key things: to check in with your body and observe your breath.
For example, you may notice areas of tension and pain or how you might be breathing quickly and short.
These two key things help you reconnect, slow down, and nurture your mind, body, and soul. They create a space to reset.
So will you wait until your body, mind, and soul say no more?

Hello!
I'm back and ready to massage! It's been such an eventful month over here and I have some exciting news to share with you all!
I am now a certified Thai Foot Reflexologist! This type of massage is great for tired feet, improving circulation and lymph movement, and increasing flexibility. It encourages the body to naturally restore its own healthy balance through specific acupressure points which stimulate the organs to be happy again! Ooh - la - la, fancy stuff!
My training was completed at the only internationally recognized and accredited Traditional Thai Massage school in Germany, which happens to also have ties to the training that I completed in Chiang Mai! Scroll down to see me helping open up my client's sinuses!
I am also very close to finishing the Yin Yoga, Breathwork, and Meditation course.
There's so much that my noggin is learning and I can't wait to share it all with you!
Cuyahoga Massage Therapy is in the process of transitioning to a new location. I think I have found the perfect spot (🤞) but I'm working through some of the not-so-fun stuff that comes with relocating. So please keep an eye out on my social media pages and through email!

Broad compression along the back (or really anywhere) feels amazing! It helps break up the tension in muscles, calms the nerves, and creates space between joints allowing for better movement. In return, this reduces pain, improves mobility, and leaves you feeling better!
Come try it out. Schedule by visiting my website below.

Scapula aka the shoulder blade.
The muscles that attach to the inner part of this bone can cause pain between the shoulder, on top of the shoulder and even refer up into the neck.
More than often these muscles are weak. This can cause poor posture, rounded shoulders and forward protruded necks.
Massage can relieve these tender spots, as well as activating these muscles by squeezing them together and opening up the front of the chest.

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, our bodies compensate in different ways leading to pain, limited range of movement, and dysfunction.
For every client that has walked through my doors, trusted me with helping them manage their chronic pain and stress - thank you. Every body is different. We all have different stories, aches and pains, burdens we carry.
It's been an honor for the past 4 years to learn about each one of you - sharing tears, laughter, and heartfelt stories. I'm very grateful to be a body worker, to be able to help my clients on their journey to feeling better, and in return helping me continuously learn to serve you and others better. 💜

Frazzled, overwhelmed, can't catch a breath?
So much of us hold tension in our face, neck and shoulders when our body and mind is overwhelmed. In return, we may experience headaches, stiff neck, tight chest and tense shoulders.
A simple head and neck massage can feel like magic - coaxing the body and mind back into rest and relaxation for a more balanced well-being.
"C2 stands out to me as one of the most beautiful and thought provoking of our bony morphology. To me it appears to be a person in prayer. I love the thought that deep within my bones, just beneath my worried head, there exists the living form of a being in perpetual prayer for me~ for us."
C2 stands out to me as one of the most beautiful and thought provoking of our bony morphology. To me it appears to be a person in prayer. I love the thought that deep within my bones, just beneath my worried head, there exists the living form of a being in perpetual prayer for me~ for us. Who doesn't need that?! And that gift is secreted away within us, pointing the way. As below, so above. When we place our hands before us in mutual contact, a heart-circuit is formed, and charge created, that emanates beyond the limits of our skin. You can feel this for yourself. Enjoy!
And as I said to my body, softly, "I want to be your friend." It took a long breath and replied, "I have been waiting my whole life for this." - Nayyirah Waheed

Cuyahoga Massage Therapy is conveniently located on Front St. in Berea, right down the street from 237/Berea Freeway.
Physical pain can be linked to unresolved trauma and chronic stress. When we are able to hold space for ourselves, whether that be through talk therapy or massage, our bodies and spirit will begin to heal.
A tight Sternocleidomastoid (SCM) located in the front of the neck can cause headaches that refer to the front of the forehead, around the eyes and in the jaw. Massaging and releasing this muscle can help relieve the symptoms above.

Massage Therapist | Bodyworker
Hi, my name is Dianna Hughes, licensed massage therapist and owner of Cuyahoga Massage Therapy.
My studies as a massage therapist began in 2016 after I was diagnosed with chronic headaches. At the time of my diagnosis, I had a stressful desk job where I sat all day. This caused a lot of physical pain in my neck, arms, back and my posture suffered. The medication that I was prescribed barely worked, and I was only able to find relief through frequent massage.
I knew then that I wanted to help others find relief from chronic headaches and pain, because I was experiencing first-hand just how disabling these conditions were.
Since then, I have taken continuing education courses to specialize in the relief of chronic pain and headaches. I’ve even studied in Thailand, where I learned Traditional Nuad Boran Thai Massage, a 2,000-year-old healing practice.
