Kat asked if I’d be willing to tattoo a kraken in my style. I usually don’t tattoo animals, but it had been a while since I had drawn one and I wanted to see how I’ve progressed. I’m pretty pleased with it!

Came across the place where I apprenticed and was first hired as a tattoo artist ( has since moved into a new space nearby). A lot of fond memories… and plenty of difficult ones too! This industry is not gentle towards newcomers, but it makes for a resilient person with a tremendous amount of respect for the craft. You need a mentor(s) and a shop that’s willing to take a chance on you. Because of that, I’m very grateful for my time there, to , and to the artists who helped me start my career.

Little bit of swollen elbow. We did 3 sessions on Brian to create a full sleeve. It’s not easy doing back-to-back sessions on the same part of the body but he handled it extremely well!

Pepper shading with grey wash. Some healed, some fresh, that’s why some redness shows through. Loved turning this shoulder tattoo into a full sleeve (3 additional sessions to complete it).
