Sometimes when we are tired, when we are drained and when it all feels like running through mud, even basic tasks like feeding ourselves can feel overwhelming.
Here’s to getting some nourishing home cooked food in my mouth for lunch. It took a little extra energy to make it but I know in turn it will give me the energy I need on the other side to fuel the rest of my day - a kind of energy that will sustain, ground and strengthen me. (Unlike the coffee that I really want to down which will have me face planted in a few hours. 🤣)
Just like bread needs to rest before it rises, we too need moments of stillness to grow. Read my latest blog post for more on this, and the new service I'm offering.
Harmonizing Energies: New Blog from Kreem Shakti This is a gentle reminder to be kind to yourself and allow yourself to be fully present in your body. Here are my tips on harmonizing energies.
Thankful to my teacher who caught this moment of joy and curiosity.
This month’s changes and tides have been like no other - all the planets are up to something!
My posts have been less as I have been going inwards to understand how to navigate my own world. Know it’s always ok to retreat into oneself - the world will always be out there waiting.
Going inwards helps us understand what resonates with us and what doesn’t. What allows our body to vibrate in expansion or shakes as to let us know to run. We become more aware of our own thoughts, our own programming. Times like these are challenging but ultimately push us to our next level.
Slow down, take a breath and forget your full summer schedule. Eat lighter, go for a walk, smell the flowers and reflect. I’ve noticed an influx in kapha symptoms in people despite it being the season of fire. There is a collective heaviness to be worked through and these small things will help.
Wishing you well 🌿
As I was creating intentional white “space” in this piece today, I felt the urge share with you how not only in this moment am I creating space physically through my painting but also mentally and emotionally.
We all naturally go through transitions in our lives, years, months and days. Women, especially, go through monthly cycles. As I navigate my own sharp hormonal descent, I create space for myself through activities such as painting that takes me inward. It is through these practices, that I can land softly through the transitions I go through.
This Chinese dragon year has been tough and this month astrological has many planets in opposing signs and spaces - creating conflict and the need to slow down.
Share with me what you like to do to be with yourself during these times of inner calling!
Do it! Honestly, this has produced the most amount of results for me in my life. Have the courage to choose you!
Whether it is through Ayurveda or your own modalities that you have found are your path, I wish you all healing in the deepest of forms 🌸💕🌿
Apricots!
These delightful little round balls have a rasa (taste) of sweet, sour and astringent.
Like most fruits, apricots harmonize all three doshas except in bigger amounts which will increase pitta and any excessive amount of fresh fruit will increase kapha.
They are great for thirst-relieving and supporting suppression of cough. Other reasons to eat apricots is that they are good for constipation, cancer, skin, muscles and nerve disorders. It is a natural anticoagulant with lots of Coumarin which is what is the natural compound for using Warfarin.
Nothing like a self care bath to get yourself ready for bed especially if you have been having trouble sleeping like I have the last few nights! Not to mention the dewey skin look perfect for selfies!
Benefits of Epsom Salt Baths:
1. Relieves muscle soreness and pain
2. Reduces inflammation
3. Eases stress and promotes relaxation
4. Improves skin health
5. Reduces swelling and bruising
6. Detoxifies the body
Also, baths are great in the evening time Ayurvedically as they can help with any stagnation due to excess Kapha and also decrease painful sensations due to excess Vata.
JET LAG
We all know this term and can love & hate it. We love it because it's means we got to travel. We hate it because well... we have to adjust. And it's not always so easy.
I personally got hit very hard with my jet lag in my return from India. Not only is it literally around the world but a 12.5 hour difference, but there was a 60 degree Fahrenheit temperature difference. And as a woman, I ended up on my monthly flow. So I kept close to several Ayurvedic hacks to get myself back on track!
1) Before even embarking on my travels, I gave myself a sesame oil self massage.
2) Once I got to my destination, I made sure I got outside and stood in the sun for about 15-20 minutes to help recalibrate my circadian rhythm.
3) I immediately attempted to shift my meals times and bedtime to my local time. Yes that means I ate light meals when not hungry (or just broth) and woke up on time despite feeling tired.
4) I avoiding drying foods like salad and chips and opted for more warm oily foods. I added ghee to all my foods and have been drinking warm milk. If you don't do dairy, almond milk is next best choice.
5) I took Triphala in small amounts at bedtime for three days. This helps regular the bowels and keep constipation at bay - bowel disregulation will only amplify jet lag. Triphala can be drying so please only take for a short time unless advised by an Ayurvedic Practitioner or Vaidya.

Anger, an emotion usually associated with our pitta dosha, often stems from feeling misunderstood, disrespected, or threatened. When we experience these feelings, it’s important to ask ourselves why.
This self-inquiry helps us develop control and resilience. Additionally, applying mindfulness and non-judgment towards our anger can be beneficial.
Remember that anger is a temporary state, not a fixed part of our identity.
Acknowledge your anger: the real harm of anger lies more in the suffering it causes us than in its external consequences.
Embrace stillness and silence to create space for inner calm and clarity, rather than acting impulsively. This helps us view situations more clearly and from different perspectives.
Stillness is the opposite of our fiery pitta which is the energy of transformation within us. Pitta constitutions be sure to make time to slow down and smell the flowers!

These years that have been given to me are full of blessings : some which brought me great joy and some of which have broken me down to my core to rebuild again.
Here I am, raw and in my element. In a country where people judge you so quickly and evaluate you depending on your status, what you do and how many children you have. I have learnt to embrace myself here, in a country where are my roots, yet navigating the cultural norms with grace so I can authentically be myself.
I always say Ayurveda is something that I feel like I have always known. Ayurveda understands the complexity of my mind and has helped me heal my mind-body connection. But India understands my heart and has deeply nourished my spirit. With the two combined, here I am : coming back from the depths of the soul to continue onwards in my dharma and inner journey.
Thank you to all dear and loved ones who have reached out to me today or thought of me. I appreciate you all and know you also are a part of what heals me.
Why hello!
Hahaha this buffalo started to make noise at me and give me a hard stare as I was taking a picture!!! Somehow didn't stop my human nature from continuing but I definitely did catch myself making this face 🤣
This tiny little ground plant is known as Ajwain or Carom Seeds.
These little seeds pack a punch! It is the season of allergies and blooms and Ajwain is a great support to the respiratory system with asthma, colds, bronchitis and lung infections - great for those sneaky summer colds. It helps reduce the inflammation, fights infection, reduces phlegm and is an expectorant. You can grind a spoon of ajwain and mix it with warm water and then drink it.
Ajwain is also widely used for bloating. It is best to make a tea out of the seeds : but since it is summer season please boil with fennel seeds. Ajwain is quite heating and cooling nature of fennel will balance its qualities. It also removes stagnated metabolic functioning so definitely great to include in your cooking!

It is not only tabla that I am learning through my teacher. He is able to tell me things that I need to hear at the right times.
During this new moon in Gemini & Rohini we are being reminded that everything we seek is inside ourselves. Timeless classic of truth.
He recently said something that felt like an extension of this wisdom nugget. He was speaking on the metaphorical "hamsa" or swan which has this mystic ability to extract only milk from a mixture of milk in water. This is to symbolize us being able to differentiate what resonates with us as truth from the rest of what society/teachings/family may say or as written in scriptures "good" from "evil."
However, no one other than ourselves can dictate, teach or show us what is "good" or "evil." It is upon us to become still, quieten the mind and decide for ourselves with our own self, what is truly best.
Easy Summer Breakfast! (Ingredients listed below)
During the summer season we tend to need more fuel than the rest of the year due to the fiery pitta energy. Think logically: we are out doing more activities and tend to have longer days : which means we have to consume good sources of food consistently and in correct amounts.
Hearty breakfasts are a must during the increased activity of summer.
1/2 cup of oatmeal boiled with 1 cup of milk and 4-5 cardamom pods. Add one chopped banana, handful of almonds and raisins, small spoonful of chia seeds and pumpkin seeds. Mix and enjoy!

Dive Into The Deep End of Bhaya - Kreem Shakti Fear, known as “bhaya” in Sanskrit, is a powerful emotion that can rob us of our ability to be present in the moment. Instead of living in the now, fear propels us into a future that hasn’t happened yet, creating anxiety and unrest. As someone inclined towards the fiery pitta dosha, fear sets ...

“The most precious gift we can offer anyone is our attention. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.” - Thich Nhat Han
Presence surely is the greatest gift. I love this quote and it prompts me to say why stop at giving attention to others? Why not give attention to ourselves, to our inner light and to our own place in the interwoven pattern of this greater collective?
Many of you who follow me are givers and carers. Always being the rock or support that others around them need. Strong compassionate people who are so needed in this world. However, often that spotlight into ourselves gets lost.
So I urge all of you to take the early morning time to devote a set period of time to yourself - for you and only for you. Everyone and everything else will still be waiting for you after you dedicate at least 20-30 minutes for YOU first thing upon waking. I ideally recommend an hour but I know this is not always feasible especially with small children or caring for the elderly. However, even with demanding needs of others, please put your gas mask on first! Those who rely on you will reap so much benefit!
More information on what to do during this YOU time to come in later posts! You can also consult with me one-on-one to find the best lifestyle routine for your desires and balance! Free discovery call link in bio 🌿

I have discovered that fear is part of my root cause of imbalances and disease within myself.
Fear, also known as “bhaya” in Sanskrit, robs us of the ability to be present. One gets zoomed in and focused on the future and as someone who is inclined towards that fiery pitta, it sets off an alarm inside of me and I do everything in my power to exert control.
Problem is, when the body and mind betrays us and we become ill, we are no longer in control. It has literally been stripped from us. And especially for me, I also felt like I could no longer trust my mind, or my body, anymore.
In mental stability, physical health and addiction recovery, trusting oneself is paramount to healing. I didn’t even realize how much trust I had lost in myself until this day when I took a motorized scooty to a nearby waterfall. The road was not paved well the whole way and became quite narrow at places. I felt my body respond appropriately but what shocked me was my lack of confidence. Hadn’t I driven roads like this on a two wheeler? Don’t I know how to drive well? What was this hesitation that now was impacting me?
I arrived to the waterfall but only with lots of deep breaths, prayers and quiet but gentle encouragement from myself. I dismounted, a bit in disbelief at how much I have lost of myself in getting sick this year.
But as I scrambled to the top of the waterfall in high heat, I realized I had to lose myself to get to this place inside myself. I had to forget what I knew to relearn what I wanted to know. Those pranic breaths, asking for universal help and kind words to myself are exactly the growth I needed to show myself I had cultivated deep inside.
The pure contentment in my eyes is self pride in quiet congratulations to myself for myself. I wish you all the same contentment as you navigate your own inner journey - as we all can get lost in fear in today’s fast paced world 💕
My cheeky face after eating Gulab Jamun (Indian dessert) even though I’ve still got four more days of panchakarma left. 🤭
Sometimes you just gotta do what makes you happy! I always encourage my clients to have balance so I gifted myself that same grace this evening.
And I give myself props : I’ve been eating khichadi and daal chaval (lentil & rice) for over two weeks.
Now I can finally live my life again without watching reels of Gulab jamuns, gulab jamun cakes and even gulab jamun coffee behind my eyes when I go to sleep 🤣
