The KidsCareEverywhere team just returned from a two week DynaMed training trip in Vietnam and Cambodia. We revisited two hospitals where we have long-standing partnerships: Vietnam National Children's Hospital and Angkor Hospital for Children. We also started a new collaboration with the University of Puthisastra, a health sciences university in Phnom Penh, Cambodia!

On this trip, KCE trained over 500 clinicians to use DynaMed and established train-the-trainer programs at all three sites. "DynaMed Champions", who are clinicians onsite, can now train others in using DynaMed to ensure program sustainability! We are beyond thrilled to continue expanding access to evidence-based medical information tools to those who need it most.

KCE Fall Newsletter Join us for KCE's 16th annual gala on Saturday, December 3 from 4 pm - 8pm at Dashe Cellars in Alameda. We'll be highlighting our most recent trip to Peru and honoring Dr. Eric Goosby, Professor of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco with the 2022 "It's All About the Kids" award. The KCE team is still beaming after returning from an unforgettable trip to Peru! We collaborated with partners throughout the country-- from the bustling capital city of Lima, to the Northern rural regions of Cajamarca and Chota-- to provide doctors DynaMed training and access. DynaMed, an evidence-based, clinical decision support system, is already changing the way our Peruvian colleagues practice medicine. This tool has inspired medical roundtables using DynaMed to explore cases and find evidence-based solutions.

During our two weeks in Peru, 350 doctors across six hospitals received training and access to DynaMed! Thanks to the continued effort of our on-the-ground partners, many more doctors will receive access and training moving forward. Stay tuned for more updates coming out of Peru!

A team from the global health nonprofit organization Kids Care Everywhere just returned from an immensely successful mission to Lima and rural Peru.

The trainings in this video took place in Chota, an historic region that was the site of the original conflict between the Spanish conquistadors and the Peruvian Incas 500 years ago.
Our wonderful hosts, Dr. Rosa and Dr. Martin facilitated the training of hundreds of doctors serving the people of this impoverished and remote region in the Andes Mountains.

Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, we have seen incredible leadership at KCE's partner site, the Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) in Nepal. DynaMed has become so essential in carrying out PAHS’ mission, the PAHS leadership team recently began integrating DynaMed education into their own training courses and in early July, doctors at PAHS led their first virtual DynaMed training for sixty new interns and residents. KCE is excited to watch as DynaMed use grows throughout all regions in Nepal, but especially where PAHS doctors serve-- Nepal's most remote and hard-to-reach areas. KCE is pleased to continue supporting PAHS with DynaMed licenses free-of-charge so they can further their mission of supporting rural Nepal with quality health care.
