We are joining our Foster Youth in Action Members - Minnesota Youth Leadership Council (YLC) in Self Care September! Minnesota YLC Councils across the state created a self care seminar with videos, tools, and practices that we are so excited to share throughout the month! Kicking it off with the Division of Indian Work YLC's video Practicing Cultural Traditions!!

Today we are lifting up our partners to the north! Over 3 years ago, FYIA welcomed Fostering Change to the network and we are honored to be in community with ever since! #fostercareawareness Fostering Change is a campaign focused on improving outcomes for youth leaving government care. The 2 pillar approach of Youth Development and Policy Advocacy create a unique climate of change for all youth in/from care. They are grassroots, non-membership required, non-partisan and peace based. They organize through capacity building workshops, peer network building, awareness raising and through advocacy creative direct action! #ICYMI missed their awesome video during Leaders for Change, check them out! #L4C20!! FYIA Members for 5+ years, we cannot wait to see SAYSO Inc. at #L4C20 this year!! SaySo, Strong Able Youth Speaking Out, is a statewide association of youth aged 14 to 24 who are or have been in the out-of-home care system that is based in North Carolina.

Look who's coming to Leaders for Change!! Denver's Project Foster Power, FYIA Member since 2017!! Project Foster Power is a group of current and former foster youth working collectively to raise their voice and take action! This year they are working on a campaign to improve supports for young people leaving the foster care system.

We are so excited to have Fostering Change back with us this year for Leaders for Change 2020!! Fostering Change seeks to change public policy for youth 'aging out' of government care in Vancouver, BC Canada led by community organizers with lived experience!
