Ran my first half marathon Sunday morning. Woke up Sunday morning at 3am to down pouring rain 🌧️, I could’ve easily told and that I didn’t think I was gonna rain in the rain (trust me the idea did cross my mind) but I decided to stick with it.

The goal Sunday was to finish the race. 😎 I was able to complete the course✅. After walking the last 5 miles, I could say I had fun.

My brother thank you for inviting me to experience my first half, and thank you for accepting the challenge. Definitely will be doing another one and will be better prepared‼️‼️

“Trust Exercise is a literary fiction by Susan Choi published in April of 2019. This book was awarded the National Book Award for Fiction in 2019 and received praise from Barack Obama who included the book in his favorite books of the year list last year. This book follows the lives of students in a performing arts high school as they navigate their friendships, romantic relationships and “authority” figures. This book reads a simple coming of age story until the story line is picked up and flipped midway through. We start to see the truth from different angles as our perceptions and truth itself is challenged. -
The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz

One thing I can say after reading this book 📚 I was able to walk away with so many gems 💎. Don Miguel Ruiz wrote about four Agreement. Each Agreement has to do with how Ruiz believes an individual should use to live a much happier life. These agreements have to do with spiritual beliefs. The first Agreement is be impeccable with your word. This was a great section and even great way to start the book. This whole chapter explains how what you say to others and yourself is very important and that one needs to very careful when choosing what words he/she is going to say. The second agreement talks to readers about about not taking anything too personally. People tend to take things that shouldn’t be meant to be taken personally, personally, that’s mainly because that’s how they already seem themselves and believe that’s how the world now sees them. Taking things with a grain of salt. The third agreement don’t make assumptions. We tend to walk around trying to figure things out ourselves which causes us to assume. Most the time it’s us trying create a narrative for something we don’t know which causes issues because instead of asking question. Assumptions can be cleared up if we’re asking the right questions to what it is you want to know or wondering. The last agreement always do you best. Ruiz talked about always putting your best foot forward. Doing your best and knowing you did your best leaves no room for self doubt. -
