The best way to support a small business is by leaving a review! We believe our reviews speak for themselves. Thank you for sharing your experiences and helping us grow!
Meet Dani! She is our Practice Manager. We asked her about her experience at Hamilton and this is what she had to say:
"I started working with Billy as a PT tech in 2014. He was an incredible mentor to all of us, and we quickly developed solid friendships. In late 2018, Billy and Jenn told me they were starting their own company and asked me to join them. It was no surprise—they're too great not to do something big—but I was deeply honored to be part of this journey.
Believing in their vision and mission made taking the leap with them the easiest decision I’ve ever made. Just a few years ago, I became the Practice Manager and oversee the company's daily operations. The growth at Hamilton Hand to Shoulder has been incredible! Learning how to get a physical therapy clinic up and running with Billy and Jenn was one of the greatest experiences of my life. This journey has brought us so close that I consider them family.
I also had the pleasure of working with Erin, one of our PTs, Lynn and Nick, our PTAs, and Debbie (she helped me learn the ins and outs of the front desk!), our PCC, before Hamilton. Bringing them all on board was like getting the family back together. We truly are a team, supporting each other and providing top-notch care to our patients. Many of our patients come to us through friend referrals, and the relationships we’ve built feel like one big family! The dedication to patient care is at the heart of everything we do. We genuinely care about each patient’s journey and are committed to helping them achieve their health goals."
Meet Debbie! She is our Patient Care Coordinator in our Salisbury clinic. We asked Debbie about her experience at Hamilton and this is what she had to say:
"I MET JENN WHEN I WAS WORKING AT SALIBURY HAND CENTER, SHE WAS DOING HER STUDIES TO BE A CERTIFIED HAND THERAPIST WITH REGINA BEATUS. AFTER REGINA’S RETIREMENT I WAS FORTUNATE TO JOIN JENN AND WORK WITH HER AS SHE BEGAN HER WORK WITH HAND TO SHOULDER PATIENTS. I JOINED HAMILTON IN JANUARY 2020 AS THEY STARTED TO GROW.
I LOVE THE WORK ENVIOROMENT THAT JENN, BILLY AND DANI HAVE CREATED. A BIG PART OF THERAPY IS NOT ONLY THE PHYSICAL BUT MENTAL. PATIENTS SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE AND THE STAFF AT HAMILTON ENGAGE SO WELL WITH THEM.
I WORK WITH AMAZING PEOPLE AND ENJOY OUR PATIENTS."
Meet Erin! She is one of our PTs and splits her time between our Ocean Pines and Salisbury clinics. We asked Erin about her experience at Hamilton and here is what she had to say:
"I started here at Hamilton in October 2023 right after graduation from the DPT program at UMES. Billy was a previous boss when I was an Exercise Specialist, Lynn and Dani worked for him then, Nick and I were Exercise Specialists together for him, and Jenn was one of my Clinical Instructors and associate professors. I knew and loved the people I would be working with and knew the quality of care that would be provided. They say if you love what you do then it isn’t work, and I knew I would love it here.
My first year in the clinic has been exciting, educational, and peaceful. I made the right decision joining this team, and I love that I can reap the reward of my many years of school.
I think my favorite parts of being a physical therapist at Hamilton Hand to Shoulder are the relationships I’ve formulated with my patients, and the friendships that have turned my coworkers into my second family. I also have the unique opportunity of working at Salisbury and Ocean Pines, so I get the best of both worlds.
Those relationships that we cultivate, and nurture are what make our clinic so inclusive and welcoming; just one factor that makes the experience our patient’s encounter at Hamilton so special."
This is Lynn! She is our PTA in our Ocean Pines clinic. We asked her about her experience at Hamilton and this is what she had to say:
"My name is Lynn Martin. I am a PTA and Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner at Hamilton Hand to Shoulder. I joined the Hamilton team in April of 2021. I had the pleasure of working as Billy Hamilton’s PTA for 5 years prior to him and Jenn starting their own business. He promised me he would bring me on board as soon as he could. I was so elated when I got the call that they were ready for me start. I have been very fortunate to work with Dani Hines since Day 1 of my PTA career. (She wears all the hats here at Hamilton and is also my adopted little sister :) ). She has taught me so much about the business and continues to hold my hand through all of my struggles. I really couldn’t ask for a better team to work with. Nick Burak (our PTA in Salisbury) and Erin Smith (our DPT at both locations) started out as techs with us years ago. We all work so well together and have become great friends.
I love to hear our patients say how much fun they have in our clinic. We try to keep things light-hearted and have a good time. We know most of our patients are hurting, and laughter is the best medicine. My favorite part of PT is connecting with my patients, and trying to help them feel better on their journey back to health. I have made such wonderful friends along the way and find this career very rewarding. If I can make someone smile and feel better on their way out the door, I am truly happy."
Meet Nick! He is our PTA in our Salisbury clinic. We asked Nick about his experience at Hamilton and this is what he had to say:
"I started working with Billy and Jenn during my senior year of college, seven years ago, as an intern. After completing the required hours for the internship, Billy hired me as a physical therapy technician. This opportunity was great because it allowed me to gain valuable experience in the field of physical therapy, which I had always been passionate about.
During my time as a PT tech, I met Dani Hines and Erin Smith, who were both aides at the time. Erin now works with us at Hamilton Hand to Shoulder as a DPT, and Dani is our practice manager. I also worked alongside Lynn Martin, our PTA at the Ocean Pines clinic. I learned a lot as a PT tech but knew I had to further my education and work towards my career.
After several years as a PT tech, I applied to the PTA program at Wor-Wic Community College. I graduated from the PTA program in the fall of 2022 and was hired by Billy & Jenn at Hamilton Hand to Shoulder. Work doesn’t feel like work all the time with this group of people, and I feel very fortunate to have been hired. We share so many laughs & have great conversations with our patients all while ensuring that they don't lose count of what rep they are on. If they do lose count, just know you're going to do five more for good measure. It's great to reconnect with the same team I worked with so many years ago, and I feel fortunate to be part of such a dedicated and supportive group."
Wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th of July!
Hamilton Hand to Shoulder was founded in July 2019 by Billy and Jenn Hamilton, two dedicated physical therapists and certified hand therapists. After working as staff PTs they saw a need for specialized upper extremity rehabilitation and opened their own practice to fill that void.
In January 2024, we rebranded to Hamilton Hand to Shoulder to better reflect our focus, but rest assured, we still treat everything else! Our vision and mission have always been to strengthen the patient/provider relationship by delivering a personalized experience, restoring faith in healthcare, and passionately inspiring healthy, active living through dedicated physical therapy.
Join us this month as we celebrate our journey, our dedicated team, and the wonderful patients we’ve had the privilege to serve. Here’s to many more years of success!
This month we are celebrating a milestone... We are celebrating FIVE years of serving our community!! This would not have been possible without the support of our communities, family and friends and your trust in us to provide specialized and expert care to you.
Your mind in motion! Did you know that exercise is not only great for your body, but also your mind?!
Aerobic exercises like walking, swimming, and cycling improve cognitive function and slow Alzheimer's progression by enhancing blood flow to the brain and promoting new nerve cell growth. Strength training and balance exercises also boost brain health, improving planning and decision-making abilities. Yoga and tai chi reduce stress and anxiety, supporting cognitive health. Stay active to maintain a healthy mind! 🧠💪
Happy Father's day to all the wonderful fathers!
From your friends at Hamilton Hand to Shoulder.
Congratulations to our Salisbury PTA Nick on his recent marriage this past weekend! 🎉🥂💕 We wish you and your wife Emily all the happiness in the world for many years to come!
Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, can affect anyone, not just tennis players! Activities that involve repetitive movements stress the muscles and tendons of the forearm, particularly those involved in gripping, twisting, or lifting, and can lead to pain and discomfort. Common culprits include playing tennis, typing on a keyboard, painting, gardening, or using hand tools. So whether you're typing up reports or tending to your garden, be mindful of your movements and take breaks to avoid overuse injuries. Prevention is key to keeping your elbows happy and healthy!
