Nearly 9 in 10 people will experience foot pain at some point. Without proper treatment, pain can impact function and mobility. Here are some tips to ease symptoms and make walking more accessible and less painful:
๐๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐๐ก ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ: Take a break from activities that aggravate your foot or ankle. Opt for low-impact exercises like swimming, rowing, yoga, or tai chi.
๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐.๐.๐.๐.๐ & ๐.๐.๐.๐: Move beyond the R.I.C.E. protocol to the updated P.E.A.C.E. & L.O.V.E. approach for soft-tissue injuries, which avoids icing and anti-inflammatory meds to promote better tissue recovery.
๐๐๐ฅ๐-๐๐๐๐๐ซ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ก๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ข๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐ฒ: If pain persists, consider physical therapy. Therapists use exercises, stretching, and manual therapy to increase range of motion, flexibility, and strength, helping relieve pain and stiffness.
If youโre feeling unsteady on your feet or have discomfort when you take a few steps, contact a clinic near you to schedule an evaluation for foot or ankle pain. https://bit.ly/4f2vobM

Thank you!
For many people, summer is the perfect time to get back into exercising. But if itโs been a few months, you want to start out slowly and strategically.
Here are our top five tips to ensure a safe return to regular exercise:
๐ญ. ๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฐ๐ต-Prepare your body for an activity with an active warm-up of dynamic stretching followed by a cool-down with static stretching.
๐ฎ. ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ผ๐ ๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป-Progression in exercise is the concept of increasing the volume and intensity of training over time. This approach not only helps avoid injuries but also improves performance over time.
๐ฏ. ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐-Training diversity, or cross-training, allows the body to adapt to a wide variety of stressors, leading to a more optimal fitness level.
๐ฐ. ๐ฆ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐ถ๐ ๐ข๐๐-If possible, spread your activity out throughout the week. You are better off scheduling shorter workouts every other day than cramming multiple intense workouts into the weekend.
๐ฑ. ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ-Water is essential for nearly every system in the body to function well. A good rule of thumb for an adequate daily intake is around 11.5 cups (or 2.7 liters) for women and 15.5 cups (or 3.7 liters) for men. Add more for exercising in hot weather, if you sweat a lot or getting over an illness.
Our is continuing to make a difference by supporting great causes like local TLC 5ks, Walk for Wellness, Walk MS, Paint the Plaza Purple for Alzheimer, and Run for Down Syndrome.
Together, we can make a positive impact in our communities.
You may be surprised to learn that what you do at home is just as beneficial as the work you do with your physical therapist in the clinic.
A home exercise program (HEP) is a customized set of therapeutic exercises that your PT will teach you. These "homework" exercises will help you reach your physical therapy goals and feel and/or move better long-term.
Following your (HEP) is so important and can help:
โขImprove mobility
โขIncrease strength
โขDevelop muscle memory
โขPrevent future injuries
โขExperience therapeutic gains
โขIncrease the chance of recovery
โขBuild confidence and reduce the fear of injury
โขMaintain strength and function for patients with chronic or progressive conditions
