On August 10th, Master Elizabeth Lindsay, the owner of the North Huntington CS Kim Karate school was involved in a motorcycle accident and suffered serious injuries. She is facing a long road to recovery and we ask for your thoughts, prayers and support during this difficult time for her, her family and her school.
We will provide updates about her condition as we receive them.

This is a great way to introduce children to martial arts: sessions during which children will get to work with a master, getting familiar with basic karate skills as well as learning respect, discipline and focus.

According to a study in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, only 46% of people who make New Years Resolutions are successful. That means that over 50% fail to achieve their goals.

But that same study says only 4% of people achieve their goals when they don't make a resolution, i.e when they don't resolve to explicitly try.

There are two important ideas here. First, you are significantly more likely to meet your goals if you resolve to do so. Make your resolutions and then expend the effort. You may fail, but you will almost certainly fail to achieve a goal if you don't resolve to try.

Secondly, you cannot apply the statistics of a group onto an individual. That over 50% of those who resolve will fail says absolutely Zero about you. You are not statistic.

Make your resolution and do it with pride and conviction. Get to class, and revel in the knowledge that the odds are in your favor.
