SELPHYL® is based on the principle that platelets circulating in whole blood possess all the essential proteins needed for tissue repair and regeneration. Using a standard blood collection procedure, the SELPHYL® kit separates and concentrates a patient’s own platelets while removing the undesirable red and white blood cells to create a gold colored ultrapure liquid PRP. Once separated, your treating physician is able to administer the ultrapure PRP for orthopaedic applications as deemed appropriate by the clinical use requirements.
