DON’T COUNT ME OUT - Live on stage. 2 hours of an unforgettable & inspiring story.
DON’T COUNT ME OUT written by playwright, director and producer, Donna Mosley is an original gospel stage play about how to keep home like heaven when all hell breaks loose. The play first blazed the stage in New Jersey in 2007/08. The play was a hit, receiving rave audience reviews. As the play toured in New Jersey, the crowds continued to grow. Donna Mosley Productions (DMP) is proud to bring the show back in celebration of the company’s tenth anniversary. The play is a realistic drama about one man’s release from prison after serving 10 years of hard time. He returns home to a wife who no longer loves him and 2 teen-age children whose lives were negatively effected by his absence. Prison was hard but now Dre will enter the most difficult fight of his life. The story is relative to what we are facing in our society today amidst a judicial system that incarcerates minority men at record rate and then releases them back into an unforgiving society and to families that have suffered in their absence. The show tells the story in a way that is dramatic, romantic, humorous and inspiring.
Donna Mosley served as the Theater Director at Agape Family Worship Center, Rahway, N.J. under the leadership of Pastor Lawrence Raphael Powell. While there, Donna staged several meaningful and inspiring plays that ignited hope, prepared people for the challenges they face, all while grabbing their attention with captivating story lines. Once relocating to Pa. to plant a theater church, Donna continued with her approach of story telling to assist people to understand the message of the bible. She planted Balm Church inside of Touchstone Theater in 2009. It is a historical theater where miracles happen. “Stories are memorable and have the power to shake the soul, which is why Jesus told so many of them, says Donna. Don’t Count Me Out is one of her favorites. Maybe because she is a romantic at heart, maybe because she loves to laugh or maybe because she has a passion for inspiring hope, which without hope, nothing good can ever happen.
