We are in need of a couple of volunteers to help set up or tear down for the John Deere Classic - Adults especially are needed to supervise and to drive students. Today is our seniors’ last day of classes! We have loved seeing these faces throughout their four years in PV Choirs, and will be sharing some memories and videos this week to celebrate them!

Join us TONIGHT for the Awards Concert in the PVHS Theatre at 6:30 pm! This concert will involve all of our choirs, presentations of awards, and honoring of seniors and their families, ending with the performance of the Senior Song. You will not want to miss this special night to celebrate all of our choir students and a wonderful year of singing!

There is admission for this concert: $2 students, $4 adults, $10 family

This is a required event for all of our choir students, meaning full attendance is part of their grade.

Students in Concert Choir and Pleasant Valley Singers are to be at school no later than 5:30 to get dressed in their uniform. Students in Treble Choir and Chamber Choir may dress at home. All students need to be in the Theatre at 5:45 in order to rehearse their combined piece. The doors will open for the audience soon after that.

Our day at State Large Group continued with amazing performances from Concert Choir, Bass Choir, Chamber Choir, and Chamber Treble Choir! Their results are: Division II Excellent for Concert Choir; Division I Superior for Bass Choir; Division I Superior for Chamber Choir, with one perfect score; and Division I Superior for Chamber Treble Choir, with one perfect score. Congratulations to all!

Today we welcomed the Waldorf University Choir and their director, Dr. Emilie Bertram! They did exchange performances with Pleasant Valley Singers and Chamber Choir. Thank you so much for your work with us!

Today we welcomed over 70 Tenors and Basses from grades 6-12 to PV High School for some games, junk food, and amazing singing. These kids rock and we are so glad that they spent their day off of school with us today! A special thanks to all of the adult and student staff who helped make this day possible.

We hope your students made some incredible connections and musical memories with PV Choirs today!

Today we welcomed Luther College’s Cathedral Choir and their director Dr. Mark Potvin to our Chamber Choir! Thanks so much for sharing your performance with us and for your great work with our singers!

Congratulations to all the PVHS musicians who took part in Solo & Ensemble today! The students gave some fabulous performances and were awarded 55 Division I Superior ratings, 36 Division II Excellent ratings, and 4 Division III Good ratings. Special congratulations to Connor Schutte, Tenor Soloist, and our Mixed Quartet (Carly Berta, Sydney Smith, Connor Schutte, and Rese Bailey), who were named Outstanding Performances in their centers!

Today we welcomed Sarah Shafer to our class! She is the soprano soloist with the QCSO at this weekend’s performances, and spoke to our students about her career in music, and sang for them a bit. Come hear her this weekend!

We also will be selling fresh poinsettias from Wallace’s, just brought in the day before to decorate the stage! They will be 8” pots, red foil-wrapped, and we ask a donation of $20 for each plant.
