Yesterday we stopped at the market for our weekly fruit and vegetables, breakfast and a little shopping.

One thing that I think people would find surprising about small businesses is that the good and kind ones (most) WANT to help each other. We have all struggled with one thing or another, we’ve grown, we all get that it takes all you got to stay in business. We all like to talk about business! I want to give a shout out to the girls at Brick and Motor Boutique. As we transition to mobile I have allll kinds of questions. They are always happy to chat. So kind and gracious, every single interaction I’ve had with them over the years.

Our trailer arrives Friday! We are very very excited about this. Please be patient as we are learning something new here. What isn’t new though is our Blingy clothing. That’s remaining! Maybe you are a Bling Sister on the daily or maybe you and your friends found us for concerts, trips etc.

About the time I think I’m not emotional over Celebrate, I find out I’m wrong. 🥲

So I’m sharing, because I’ve always done that and I think that’s what made us so successful.

There are easily 10000 pics in my phone related to celebrate. But I just picked a few to share. The one I hope you notice is the mirror pic. That’s a bullet hole. (Not from us!)

As a lot of you know, I started Celebrate as a very busy single mom with an amazing fiance who believed in me like no one ever had before. And some awesome kids who jumped right in, and a great group of friends who possibly thought I was crazy but didn’t hesitate to help.

We started in a very small room, and grew and grew. Learning something with each move. There was a lot to know. To be honest, I didn’t know much of anything at the beginning.

I knew I wanted to provide beautiful gowns to everyone, no matter what their budget or their size. I wanted it to be a place that everyone felt welcome, loved, important. I saw some pretty magical moments happen with in our walls.

I made my fiance, niece, friends, and other family travel all over the US dress shopping. Lots of memories made along the way.

We were an asset to our community helping people and groups in many ways, most we didn’t talk about.

One of my fave memories was the fashion shows. Involving so many other local small businesses. Letting local students shine, model for us, while raising money for community causes.

My now husband built our racks, we repurposed everything we could as we grew. The whole repurposing thing started right in the beginning. When Jumers was closing I got sons (10 and 12 years at the time) to go with me to pick out mirrors, chairs, benches etc.

This mirror had a bullet hole. Everyone said don’t take it. Why would you want that one. It was $20 well spent. We have had it at every location. Even damaged things have value. I don’t think anyone ever noticed the bullet hole unless we told them. But the number of women that felt beautiful when they saw themselves in that mirror, never noticing the flaw kinda just melts my heart. When I think of all that my family and friends have contributed over the years. Painting, moving, sharing our posts, all of it. I’m just so grateful.

I know that I wouldn’t be where I am today had it not been for this small business.

I know that I’m doing what’s best for myself and my family, and I’m trusting Gods plan.

I’m praying the right person wants to continue what we have started and grew. People come from all over, not to mention locals, to our little bridal and prom store.

I’m so grateful for everyone that has shopped at Celebrate. For letting us be a small part of your big days.

To all the small businesses we have collaborated with, I can’t thank you enough. To many to name and I don’t want to leave anyone out. What a journey it’s been!
