0.2% Hypochlorous acid is highly effective against 99.999% of bacteria as well as a wide range of VIRAL human pathogens. While it’s typically used as an eyelid/eyelash cleanser, you may also use it for your spraying your hands and commonly used items such as keys and phones. It can be difficult to find hand sanitizer right now so if you need a good substitute, we have bottles available! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hypochlorous Acid is so good that workers at drive-thru corona testing stations in South Korea reported that “When their shifts ends, they step fully clothed into a small portable booth called the ‘Clean Zone,’ in which they are showered in hypochlorous acid disinfectant.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We also highly recommend this product for those who suffer from eyelid issues such as styes, crusty lashes in the mornings, and itchy eyelids. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Disclaimer: there is no replacement for washing your hands properly with soap and water⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

Is anyone else feeling trapped both physically AND mentally? There are several resources out there that can help you during this time. Now with telemedicine, you don’t have to wait to talk to someone. The LA County Department of Mental Health has a lot of great resources on how to help manage stress and anxiety, as well as an access line to call and speak to someone directly. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in this difficult time. ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Today is one of many days to celebrate the work of nurses and midwives, and to remind the world of the critical role they play in keeping the world healthy. Nurses and other healthcare workers are at the forefront of COVID-19. They provide high quality, respectful treatment and care. No doubt about it that we need them more than ever right now. THANK YOU for your commitment and sacrifice to your patients not just now, but especially in these tough times.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

No. However, you must follow strict hygiene protocol EVERY TIME you go to put in and remove your contacts.
*Proper hand washing: wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and dry with a clean paper towel before insertion and removal of lenses.
*Clean your lenses each time upon removal, following proper directions.
*Disinfect your lenses exactly as recommended
*Change your case every 3 months
*Discontinue lens wear only if affected by COVID-19

Richlin Eye FAQs:
ARE WE OPEN?
Yes, with limited hours and services. We are not currently seeing routine exams and are using telemedicine for any eye issues not requiring an in-office visit. We are seeing emergency visits on a person-to-person basis. We are accepting contact lens orders and most orders ship FREE!

WHAT EYE CONDITIONS ARE YOU SEEING?
We are seeing urgent and emergent eye cases. This would include but is not limited to sudden change in vision, severe redness and eye pain, double vision, and highly symptomatic floaters/flashes. It is best to call us to assess your situation so we can decide what’s the best way to treat you safely and properly.

ARE YOU OFFERING TELEHEALTH?
Yes! We offer telehealth virtual visits where you can speak with or videochat with one of our doctors directly at home. We treat a majority of ocular issues and irritation with this method currently; however, if necessary, we may suggest an in-office visit.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
We have limited staff answering calls from 10am-4pm Monday-Friday. Any other time we have an answering service where you can communicate with one of our doctors. They can make a recommendation to you pertaining to your individual eyecare needs.

STAY HOME AND STAY HEALTHY!

Do new floaters qualify as an emergency during the coronavirus pandemic?

New floaters may be a sign of a an issue such as a retinal hole, retinal tear, bleeding inside the eye or a retinal detachment. HOWEVER, most floaters are harmless and not a threat to your vision. If floaters are darker than normal, if there are significantly more of them, if your vision is diminished, if you notice a loss of peripheral (side) vision or if you see flashing lights, that may mean a more serious problem requiring evaluation. It is best to call your doctor first to discuss your symptoms to determine if an exam is necessary. Generally, and particularly now during this public health emergency, it is best to call your doctor right away for floaters/flashes evaluation rather than going to the emergency room or urgent care. Our office is open from 10-4 accepting emergency calls as well as an after hours emergency line. We are here for you during this difficult time!

04/03/2020

Thank you to everyone out there on the front lines. We can’t imagine how difficult this must be for you and their families, as well for all the COVID patients and their families. For the sake of all the essential workers and their families, please stay home.
